A World War II Battlefield game that has a maximum of 24 players, 3 maps, and isn't PC exclusive? Are you kidding? Is this what we've all been waiting for?

Sorry DICE but, as a customer, I'm not the least bit interested.

Yeah, only 24 players on a server? Sounds more like something meant for consoles and then ported to PC. 24 is fine for a small urban map, but Guadalcanal with only 12 people on each team would be boring.

24 is so small... didn't bad company have 32?

maybe 24 players is for the console versions wich seem to be supposed to be released before the pc version

                Re: Battlefield 1943 Pacific

They said they were going to keep their "hardcore PC" fans "very happy". How are they doing that by releasing this game onto all platforms, thereby dumbing down the PC experience? "Hardcore PC" Battlefield is about 64 player matchups on large scale maps. That also means more than 3 maps. It's not some crappy PS3 port.

What an anti-climax. The way DICE are keeping their "hardcore PC fans" "very happy" is with a freaking console port.

I guess this is the fifth title too, so we can't expect anything else. They said they had five titles in development. They are: Heroes, BFBC2 (turned out to be the traditional core game aimed at consoles they were talking about), Korean project (collaboration with Neowiz specifically for the Korean market), BF1943.

                *Sigh*

                  Re: Battlefield 1943 Pacific

If they're going to re-do the maps, why not re-do the whole BF1942 game (although the campaign mode is not needed, really) on Frostbite? BF1942 came with 16 maps across three different theaters and five armies FFS. I mean something new would be great and all, but I'd at least be satisfied with a modernised version of BF1942. There were more than 3 maps in just the Pacific Theatre alone in 1942 - you had those three and Midway as well. Plus the Africa and Europe maps, and that's not including patch-added maps like Aberdeen and Philippines.

Then again, I think perhaps it's a bit too soon to be getting our knickers in a twist over it all...after all this is just some random info posted on a random website without any official confirmation, so it's a bit early to be getting super pissed about it all. All this speculation and how hot this thread got in such a short time does, however, speak volumes at how badly we all care about our PC BF franchise and how desirous we all are for more of it. :salute:

Well, we're coming from an English website and speaking to a Swedish company about a rumour we heard in French, so naturally they'll be speaking Cantonese. Durr.

Fun fact - English is a requirement for employment at DICE in Stockholm. Swedish is optional.
