Actually it'd be interesting to hear from a DICE team member as to why the feature was cut. Simply forgotten? Not needed?
    Hmm

in the beta they could drive through/in water. the beta was so much better than the release all they needed was to iron out the wrinkles. weapons were more balanced and the squad leader drone worked and looked better

Because not everything is about realism.

i wouldnt exactly say apc's of the past were realistic... i mean do you see apcs driving into oceans?

Its not really relevant to real gameplay ever. I don't see any strategic advantage for it on any of the few maps where there are both water and APCs.

It just seems completely irrelevant to me.

Care to list some other nice things that were in the beta for us Modders? =).

If you hate BF2142 why are you spending so much time on a BF2142 forum?

Or anywhere on the map. BF2 vehicle maps + Good/Decent J10 pilot = Nonstop carnage of every player on the opposing team.

I never realized they weren't amphibious... Funny as that is, guess that's what I get for barely playing Titan.

i would of rea;;y loved to see amphibious APC's as it would be awesome driving trough the lake like body of water in Wake Island. I also remember trying to drive a tank in Battlefield 2 Modern Combat for the PS2 trhough the river there and fail the mission.

If the APC was amphibious then I would have a easier time in Sidi Powerplant! No more swimming to the silo 2 with smoking APC in the water. Some of us aren't great drivers mind you.

HMm...Other maps; Oh Verdun; I hate the little stream/ravine that is muddy and I always get my APC stuck in. If it was all terrain; I could just drive in the water and get out when I feel like lol.

Both of you need to know the crossing points through the waters for those maps lol. Wake has a small path across the bay and Verdun has various paths you can see on the minimap. :p

Hmm...I know where the bodies of water is. I just don't know when or WHERE the road ends. When I found out; i m already in water. I m just a bad driver; my field of speciality lies in the air flying.

In year 2142, the world froze over and there's no need for vehicles to be all terrain and no one need to know how to swim, hyperthermia will get ya!
