Aren't they using the same engine but with minor tweaks? Like how Crysis Warhead is the same as Crysis just with minor tweaks.

CoD1 is made on the Quake 3 engine and the rest of the games (except for CoD3) are made on the same updated engine. Kinda how BF1942 up until 2142 also use the same engine with tweaks.

I've found that some of the weapons in multiplayer have really bad textures while some seem just fine.

The point is we'd expect better from a game that just came out weeks ago, then one we would that came out years ago. Shows how much work they really put into it....not much.
