not really, if they do a patch all they really need to do is very minor tweaking

and yer silenced weapons are good, they sound awesome but like you say I much prefer taking everyone out with my Barret or AA12

Got mine from GameStop and has 6 bonus mission.

I like the open world and "do-business-your-way" approach, but there are some drawbacks to me:

      1. the default control is lame. Why "5" for map? Why not something like Tab like any other games?

      2. whose idea is it to have the protagonist infected by malaria?

      3. why do I have to keep pushing right mouse button to aim down? Why can't it be just like any other games that I switch aiming by one click?

Seriously? Damn, that was one of the (many) things people complained long and loud about with MOH:Airborne, too. :|: Annoying.

Yes, seriously! I find it to be really stupid because that is another finger I need to be doing something with. When I am sniping, I want to click the right mouse button and that is it! But no.

My Opinion on a Few Things..

And with a bolt action sniper, if you are zoomed in and shoot, you need to let go of your zoom before it reloads. Retarded!

Also, Multiplayer Ranked servers fail! They need to be "Waiting" in order to join (Can't join In Progress games), and once the round is finished, the server kicks everybody! Ghey.

The hit detection, or damage. . . REALLY SUCKS! I unload a whole damn clip into someone and their still chugging, or I shoot a guy once in the head and they fall.. What?!:shakehead:

The Single Player is the same way, when you get bombarded with people, being a noob at Far Cry and comprehending what your doing really sucks to be you. I get people running out from everywhere shooting at me. They see me, I don't see them? and it takes A LOT to take them out as well! I rather it be realistic and have like 4 shots on me kill me than have it 10 shots on me kills me while 20 shots on them kills them. Who the hell came up with such an idea?

I'm gonna go back into Singleplayer today and try again, but I played it for about an hour yesterday and just didn't understand why I was playing it. Everywhere looks the same to me, tracking diamonds just makes you go out of your way, and then getting bombarded out of nowhere by enemy militia leaves me like "WTF?!"

          ...Lets try this again

                    First impression.

Graphics are good but not Crysis good. However performance is a lot better and DX10 seems to actually improve FPS for me

It still looks like a computer game - Crysis at times looks real.

Gameplay is alright. A lot of delivering junk and taking down enemy camps. The story aspect is quite weak IMO.

^^ Really? I felt it was quite the opposite. Crysis looked really fake, especially the vegetation - Far Cry 2 isn't perfect, but it feels more realistic to me... Weird.

                        Agreed^^

Far Cry to me, looks more realistic and scales much, much better.

                          Some further opinions.

The consensus on a lot of forums is that the graphics in Far Cry 2 are toned down a little to allow for the huge sandbox experience. To me though the game feels quite confined. It doesn't feel like your in a massive open area. Everything is canyons and villages or hilly areas. I got a sense of a much larger world in other games.

It seems to have the same 'forever spawning enemy' syndrome that blighted COD4.

I was driving around and the sun was going down, everything had that hazy late evening look and the game did look great but it was still closer to COD4 or GTA4 than to Crysis

That statement is ridiculous unless you actually live in Liberty City.

No, Crysis looked too fake to me, Far Cry is much better.

I understand what you mean about the sandbox experience, you don't really feel you are in a large world since pretty much of it is all the same. Driving around the map usually entails this:

Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > Drive > Checkpoint > Kill all enemies > find a mission.

Why do all checkpoints feel the need to shoot you?

while I enjoyed playing Far Cry 2 it seriously lacks depth and the free roaming world is seriously raped by some of the repetitiveness, although I never usually had too much of a problem with that

imo the Crysis visuals were better and more realistic

if theres one thing you notice about the FC2 visuals its the crap textures

Yeah the gameplay is dull. I've barely even got started and I don't know if I can be bothered going on.

Yes everytime you pass a checkpoint they open fire. I've taken to just ramming them on my way past. Plus the tedious diamond tracking :|:

Still some of the graphics are very good. It has to rate as one of the best looking games ever but certainly not the best. In places you get different textures next to each with no attempt at blending - for example where a tree meets the ground. This happens in all games but it has been handled better elsewhere.

I do like the fact that you never seem to step out of the P.O.V of your character. Moving seats in vehicles etc - that is good.

Sadly there's not enough to hold my interest. In fact it feels very 'console-y'
