I haven't read much about COD:WW besides simply playing the 360 beta, but will there be more vehicles in these maps besides tanks? (IE: Hummers, Jeeps, APC's...etc) ?

I enjoyed CoD2 the most of of all the current CoD titles, although I found CoD4 a lot more... I dunno.. Game-like :o

CoD2 would take some skill to take someone down, so playing to relax would be a bit of a waste of time :o CoD4 seems easier, just grab a corner and a C4

ghey. The tanks are overpowered. Plus, I wanted to get in a Jeep and drive around in circles really fast so nobody could kill me. (Used to do that in bf2)

Yeah I'm not that impressed by it, for me CoD4 kind of popped up under the radar for me I've played CoD2 previous to 4 and loved it and I liked both but I can't help but worry about who's making it. I'll probably give it a miss.

We'll have to try it for ourselves on PC of course...but I find it amusing that on various different forums, some of the people who loved COD4 are now saying that COD:WW is too much like COD4, so they don't like it.

              ..

I'm wondering how much of that was due to the hyper-accurate/high-rate-of-fire weapons in COD4. Now that we're going back to some of the slower-firing weaps, including rifles, I hope we'll see a bit of a return to the slightly slower, more skilled play rather than the RNG more often seen in COD4.

I hope so. Maybe some of the smaller maps with sprint will be RNG. but hopefully Tanks disabled on bigger maps would be good :]

                  *Fingers crossed*

Plus, in other CoDs, you could RNG and also play slower as you said. I really didn't feel those options were available in CoD4. It was RNG or play as sniper. That's where the bolt action rifles come back in to play. :) To compensate in CoD4, I usually tried to play the slower, more skilled play by having all silenced weapons, uav jammer, dead silence, and most people never knew where you were or saw you coming lol.

Well, what made CoD2 and CoDV slow in the first place was the lack of a sprint function and ability to shoot through walls. Shooting through walls speeds gameplay up as you can't just camp behind a wall - you have to move to avoid being shot. Not being able to run slows it down for obvious reasons.

I doubt CoD5 will be any slower than CoD4 - I just hope that the maps are well suited for SD, not just big maps with little depth - which from my initial impressions is what they appear to be.

Well, even if the stock game is too fast...custom servers, baby. We'll be able to do (almost) whatever we want on those. And I think a lot of MOH/COD players from the past will be looking closely at COD:WW (esp those who avoided COD4 because of the modern setting). Custom unranked servers will always be harder to populate, but I have a feeling that with so many people prefering the old-style of play, we may have more people playing on unranked servers this time around.

what i will be looking for with CoD:WaW will be a server without recon/arty/dogs, as if its anything loke CoD 4 they will be spammed so much you cant move without being killed.

im also looking forward to some rifling action with the M1 garand and the M1a1 carbine

I wish they'd just remove the ranking system altogether TBH. You rank up so fast that it's not important (contrary from say BF2 where it takes hundreds of hours) and it detracts from population custom servers.
I installed CoD2 the other day, and I'd say 90% of the filled servers are modded in some way - either rifles only mod, some extreme mod, or custom maps. It'd be nice to have a less rank-oriented community that's willing to step outside the box.

I agree. The problem is that effing BF2 was initially such a success because of ranks (but also lost a lot of players due to ranks). All these game companies saw that success, and want to capture the "achievement-oriented" players on PC, just like the Console folks and their Xbox points.

They can't seem to get it out of their mind that if you put enough cool features into a game, and concentrate on gameplay itself, that it will be just as popular, without all of the damn stat-padding and rank BS. We were playing games like CS & MOH religiously long before BF2 ever came along...too bad they can't figure out why. :|:

Right now its sort of a hybrid between BF2 (radical) and COD4 (Easy). They added in more ranks, so it will take maybe a few minutes longer than COD4 to reach 55 within the first day. Its still a bit fast paced, but hardcore slows down a bit, again depending on play. BUt PC can always be different than the Console, and i plan on it.
