Basically means:

No more PBSS.
No way of updating the ban lists (PsB auto-MBL).
No auto-admin.
No unique MD5 checks.

The internets WHOLE supply of facepalm and failcopter pictures are not enough to sum up the level of fail, which DICE and EA have bestowed upon us. Unless of course this is all a build up to a magical new system, in which case I will retract my previous statement. Until then, let the hacking commence.

As far as I understand the situation, EA/Dice/Ranked Server Providers have removed the ftp access to ranked servers to increase the integrity and security of these servers.

A copy of a letter which was forwarded to one of our clan leaders.

Access to ranked servers was limited by the Ranked Server Providers as
they were unable to secure their systems. This was a step taken to
secure Battlefield servers after modified ranked servers were found and
affected all Battlefield players by artificially inflating player scores
which saw numerous player accounts reset as explained on Battlefield.com

Some of the server providers have provided alternative solutions such as
web interfaces and mirrored hosting of files you may need access to.

If your host does not provide such services then we suggest mentioning
such options to them and they may implement such tools for you.

Unfortunately this is not ideal for us, as the mechanism to continue to view pbss is not categorized, and access limited to a couple of administrators.

Each server provider will have there own solutions or in some cases, I guess, no solution.

Will it have a detrimental effect on the viewing and subsequent reporting of screenshots, probably, in at least the short term. But the Ranked Server Providers are attempting to resolve a problem which has inflicted many players.

I hope this helps.

I just wish whoever is running the show could communicate there thoughts to the rest of us.

It has been done to prevent servers that falsely report stats and helps minimise cheats that gain administrative rights and allow certain players to change in game values (if you look around the forums you'll see complaints about tanks, APC's etc... flying around the map and having one hit kills.

In regard to PB SS's, a lot of GSP's don't allow you to store them on your ranked server as it takes so much space. They will often make them stream to an external FTP. If in the case that they don't, all it would mean is locking down the ranked game files and creating a public folder where PB SS's can be streamed to.

Not the end of the world really.

EDIT: And, GSP's were never meant to provide FTP access to ranked servers, never. However, many broke the rules and that is why we saw some exploits.

Dosn't matter, after PBBans has been hacked, (Read on there forums) the hackers have found an loop hole that is impossible to fix.

Aka. Hackers can ban any player from any game running pb, and ban them on any a/c site. (PBBans, PsB, +Euro A/C sites.)

BF2 is over, and so are the other pb games. (The father of the PBBHub has retired, aka its over.)

If you are already streaming a server be sure it's actively streaming

If you are not streaming please visit the Starters Guide for more information on streaming to PBBans

Yea, we've already seen that. To fix that, all BF2 needs is server verification code.

Not unpatchable really.

Hackers can get that same code and submit false bans, just like they did before.

the only way to "fix" it to make the MBI a searchable database.
or get a whole new A/C system working but that would take months.
