How is what I said "non sequitur" ?? the only thing that's non sequitur is your ranting about public servers.. Your ego is displayed in pretty much every single post you have on here.. Maybe it's about time you got off your high horse and realized not everyone lives for the game and a lot of people are just in it to have fun..

Your attitude towards the game and the people that play it SUCK.. I'm sure your intelligent enough to realize that. Sure people who are new to the game do get annoying and yeah they do stupid sh*t but they are having fun.. If their in-experience with the game is ruining your fun then go join a clan server with people that ARE experienced. Don't constantly rubbish people for their ability to play a game though, Some people just aren't good at games but still enjoy giving it a go, while others are just new to gaming like we all were at one point.

I like flying with people I know.
Keeps things simple.

I do however like the "GREAT FLYING" and " U R 'MAZING PILOT" comments I get when I occasionally pick up randomers. But mostly I'll stick to people I pub with, they don't even have to very good, it's just more fun.

It's not like you would be all cheery if the time and effort you had put into BF2 over the last three years was nullified by noobs too ignorant to realize they suck.

If their in-experience with the game is ruining your fun then go join a clan server with people that ARE experienced.

Clan run servers are just as populated by noobs as other non-clan run servers are. There are certain servers where inexperienced people are prohibited from wasting assets, but there are so few that just sticking to those servers would severely limit one's BF2 experience.

Not I, I know for a fact that I am not good at flying so I dont even bother trying to get in an airvehicle of any kind. I am happy with keeping my boots on the ground.

I was always a ground pounder at the beginning. The only thing I could with the choppers was get them to go up. Afterwards, I just managed to flip them, or fly them into ground.
Along comes 2142, with its noob friendly Gunship. A happy combo of choppers and jets. After getting somewhat decent at those, I came back to BF2. And realize, I can fly these damn choppers. And, I'm no where near being the best chopper pilot at all, but I've finally learned the basic attack, manuver, evade tactics. So yeah, it took almost 3 years. But so what? I'd still honestly rather ground pound. :p

I'd probably pound that ground with ya if the combat was more akin to COD4. I'd just think "hmmm, these nubs keep taking the heli... ok, time for my super duper M4/Red Dot/3x Grenades/Stopping Power/Dead Silence combo!"

Yada yada yada, look at that statement and work out the plain stupidity in it. They are nubs, new to the game, you have 3 years flying that piece of equipment you automatically assume that

a). They are going to be as good as you are
b). They should automatically release that equipment because you happen to have whored that vehicle for the last three years

As previously mentioned, we don't necessarily expect greatness. But is decent situational awareness combined with the basic ability to follow simple f*cking instructions/spots that much to ask from a game that people have (in all likelyhood) been playing for over one year?

Choppering is one of the few aspects of BF2 that actually requires teamwork (minus soloing), so I can understand your frustrations.

However, taking the time to join that co-pilots squad and talk to them over VOIP does go along way. I'm not saying you open up a "Chopper Training 101" session, but sharing general tips or even just ordering a person around...turn left, look up, go to this CP, etc ... can really help them learn. Granted there are those who are beyond help, but I can imagine that most players who "suck" are simply new or inexperienced in choppers. When the next round starts and you get stuck with them again, I guarantte you'll be less frustrated.

I can see the use in trying to communicate with them through VOIP, provided they (1) actually accept the invitation, and (2) understand, consider and implement the suggestions.

I can already think of a few problems here. Can you?
