Well, it gets annoying as f*ck to constantly fly with rakes. No, wait... I take that back because it would be an insult to rakes worldwide.

I'm sorry, but if 3 years in, you still can't fly properly and focus on targets, get the f*ck out of the heli and look pretty on the carrier or something.

If you get in a chopper pilot seat, you should at least know:
*The gunner has a TV missile
*That you should line him up for shots

I don't know why that's so hard to learn.

Same with gunners, quit firing your chaingun at armor. Especially in 2142 where it has no effect whatsoever besides giving us away.

I actually have more problems with lame pilots who think they're awesomesauce. I hate flying with guys who think that jerking all over the place with the gunner view in the dirt/water is leetness. Then they cry when we get hit by something that I had no way of shooting, but I spotted three times to allow them to nose up and turn me in the general direction. Then they try to redline me or TK me because they think they would do so much better alone. If their situational awareness sucks with me in the gunner seat, it's still going to suck when they solo. Of course, I create a squad and invite them to it in an attempt at getting them on VOIP so they don't even have to worry about watching for my spots. Usually there is no reaction when I tell them that there is an enemy chopper at 10 o'clock behind the reactor tower or hilltop. I'm fairly convinced most people have no idea that you can look around in aircraft without moving the chopper.

Spacebar / Mouselook = Winrar

Even then the field of view is such that (all things being equal/average) unless they're in one of the pilot's blindspots, he should be able to see them without using mouselook. This is just an excuse because the reality is, most pilots don't make ANY effort to scan the horizon for targets.

heres a few things you can do to get rid of your gunner:


first, always give him a chance, if hes terrible go back and nicely ask him to bail, if he doesnt then you can :

-bail out and make him crash
-park and use your m95
-redline
-if he still wants to get in and is being annoying, I switch sides and let him know how bad he is

you can do the same thing if you get a bad pilot, Ive head friends who quit this game because of scrubs who are just being annoying on purpose, well Im not letting that get in the way, I have no problem with redlining you if you wanna be an ***, now on servers where u get kicked for redlining, I have other ways to get rid ofem

You guys just reminded me: I saw a joystick at the thrift store that plugs into a mouse port. Maybe I could actually use mouse-look someday.

A lot of the time when I have an experienced gunner in my chopper I get kinda nervous. I know they expect me do all the standard maneuvers and get them lots of kills, but really I don't much like flying these guys around. Sure we might kill the other choppers, but it's just not satisfying giving the gunner all the glory. See, when we kill something, the gunner gets the credit, but when we die, that's all on me. I have a lot more fun sneaking up behind the enemy choppers and blasting their windshields with 8 missiles at a time.
