Reminds me of this ****** Wells who claimed he had 9 years of military training and wanted to sponsor my mod....

i agree with alex shooting and archery do take alot of skill

what exactly do you mean by luck?

because once you put the game on a lan and take out 3rd party software such as punkbuster or vac then the game would run perfectly, something akin to single player :)

No, you have netcode to process, graphical and physical glitches which make the game 90% reliable. You can guarantee a certain strategy will work because of spontaneous features like bugs or glitches.

Even skilled football players have luck sometimes just as in any other sport...

your not looking far enough into the future. think of all of the stuff in the military RIGHT NOW that someone controls with a mouse or joystick like gun turrets and stuff

For example, you can have perfect hitboxes one night, then the next you just have dust flying out of the enemies head. Games are too spontaneous, too random and not enough of it relies on skills to make it a real sport that'll ever take off.

hitboxes? actually no this shouldnt be a big problem especially if you have a good pc. i had "issues" with my last computer but with this one i dont have "hitbox issues"

i really dont think everything is as random and chaotic as you like to make it out

but really there is randomality and chance with almost everything in this world

Hitboxes can be down to lots of things.

                        1. Your PC is too slow to effectively process netcode
                        2. Poor Windows or LAN chipsets TCP/IP packet inspection leading to lag
                        3. Low powered server causing lag
                        4. Badly programmed netcode (see BF2 for reference)
                        5. Generally crap Internet speeds
                        6. Throttled packets containing specific data (E.g. gaming, P2P etc...)

Therefore, fair competition is not easy.

umm i was thinking more along the lines of everyone having the same hardware and also an "underpowered server" is going to effect everybody playing on it....

its the future messfeeder. you ever heard in the future there will be robots? think of all the applications that a human-machine interface would be used in future military hardware. i really see video gaming being a legit thing that should get more popular as time goes on and grow into a bigger thing like pro football (all it takes is some money and some interest from enough people) the only difference is that you are only using your brain. even with that though you ever heard of racecar drivers talking about how they need to be physically fit to drive a racecar? if you are physically fit your brain will function better and it does.

Don't tell me you are going to compare video games to racecar driving... There's a difference between athletics and games. You could be really good at chess--and granted, chess takes a lot of skill and thinking--but that would not make you an athlete because you are the greatest chess player in the world. Racecar drivers are athletes because you do have to be physically fit to drive a racecar. See the difference??
