Not that the min specs matter in practice though, Titan still lags no matter what I set it on on this rig, and no it's not the server's fault, I've played with a C2D and an 8800GT and it runs perfectly.

I hate BF2. But i love the mods (Project reality.) BF2 is pure ****e without mods. I prefer Vannila 2142 over Vannila BF2 but I prefer PR over 2142.


And about 2142 being a mod for BF2. The 2142 engine is the same engine as BF2 but just buffed up a little.

But it isn't. It's like Company of Heroes. When Opposing fronts came out it was announced as another game. Not a Expansion. And 2142 is not a mod.

You could possibly call it a full conversion mod... but then it's a completely different game anyway, so calling it a mod is useless.

BF2 is based on BF1942's engine so you could call BF2 a mod as well

BF:1942, BF:V, BF2, BF2142 and BF:Heroes all run on the "Refractor 2" engine.

So, they are all mods of the Codename Eagle, the first game to use the engine :p

but that was the original refractor engine before they were bought by DICE so your original post is actually corrects as refractor 2 was made for 1942
