    Re: Battlefield 2142 v2.0

-I like 2142 the way that it is (mostly). There are tiny minute tweaks that would be nice to see included if ever ported onto a more stable engine.

-yes, i remember being saved many times because of insta-entry into the drivers seat. One memorable one was being saved from a ramming FAV and then getting the kill when said FAV explodes upon collision

-walkers should have a short engine warmup time so it doesn't suddenly become a walking death machine without warning. Perhaps to all vehicles except the fav and turrets.

-instakill headshots from sniper rifles is not a bad idea. Then perhaps undead wolf pack medic squads will take snipers more seriously rather than opportunities for a revive score. But i suppose allowing bodies to be blown into little pieces to prevent reviving is taking it a step too far. Maybe allow shooting bodies to put them out for good might work.

Real world day night cycles for the maps with real time lighting and weather effects.

As an example - how cool would it be to play Camp Gibralter at night or in a thunderstorm. Or the round starts at dusk only for the environment to get redder and redder as the sun goes down. Would add some cool variability to the maps and create the need for different tactics.

Heat scopes for snipers. Black uniforms. Lights on your gun. Ambient lights from the windows of the buildings.

Night maps weren't too popular in BF:SF, but they sure were fun!

how about location based damage? someone wanted partial damage to vehicles like a blown out wheel that would make the vehicle go slow and tilted. or even to the body, like injured leg slowing you down or injured arm affecting your accuracy or force you to use only the pistol.

1.) in conquest , fighting over 1-2 max points at any given time , so there is more action and not 2-3 dudes running around some remote base waiting for respawns.
2.)weapons that require multiple people to operate , like putting jets back but instead of their huge air-ground bombs they have an powerful air-ground missile that they can only fire on positions\vehicles that are marked by a laser from a teammate(some kit has it).
3.) realistically destructible environment - ( like bad company only you cant destroy concrete with a grenade launcher , but can with tanks - basically more realistic frostbite)
4.)more kits- with types of kits like urban kits\kits for combat in open places
5.)instead of spawns you order vehicles and they are airdropped to one of your team's bases , commander can airdrop tanks\APCs on the field
6.)special squad spawn options -squads of players that teamwork well can spawn together (those alive and not in the middle of a battle will respawn) like an airdropped special forces squad \armor squadron\ fast raid jeep squad , the idea is that as you play you meet some people , add them to friend list and then online you play together in the same server as a special forces squad raiding assets\blowing up bridges\attacking AA installations\flanking the enemy .
                  7.) bigger, 80-128 man servers .
8.) objective gamemode - like in Enemy Territory - one team has to do something while the other tries to stop it ,like one team needs to capture a supply depot while the other defends it (the first needs to capture all control points on the way )
9.) like #1 if the map consists of a line of 6 bases 1-4 belong to team A and 5-6 to Team B then only bases 4-5can be captures so no one ninja's bases from your back .
10.) bases can only be captured by 2+ people (depends on the size of the server )

                    Re: Battlefield 2142 v2.0

I like the idea of only being able to capture flags that are in next in line to the front line. I.e on CG, if PAC have toll station then they can only take Command Centre from there and EU can only take Harbour. I think this should be a gameplay option however like Conquest or Assault Lines. If all maps were like this 24/7 then every game would be a choke point frag fest.

Airdropped vehicles sounds like a good idea. Instead of having them just appear at bases, each held silo etc would speed up the availability of such assets to the commander who could direct them to the field wherever he saw fit. This would also make the commander position more crucial.

After experiencing jets in Battlefield 2 I am very wary of having them any where near 2142.

I would like to see animations for walkers etc. delivered in some way. For example in 2142 v2.0 such things could be air dropped or shot down to earth in pods - a little like the Dawn of War games.
Ahhh yes, have an entire squad pod in as one like the Terminator's in DoW? It would be cool but don't know how it would work since guys die at different times. But having Walkers and jeeps "cartillery" into the same spawn locations like that would be cool. However that seems like a lot of unnecessary animation for a FPS.

What would be cool for a game like this is to have more destructive environments. So if you blow a hole in a building it last like that for the entire round. You'd have to get rid of orbital artillery or at least cut down the amount of times you can use it. Imagine Camp G with a destructive environment, you have a sniper in the tower at Toll. A few Engineers come in with Pilum's and take the tower out half way up. TIMBER! Heck you could even incorporate a badge for # of structures demolished (same applies for the RDXin' Snipers).

Sorry to anyone who already mentioned this idea. I didn't read the entire thread before posting. Oops.

Some kind of terminal hacking kit for the Engineer that would let them cap silos and flags faster would be cool too, but I've mentioned that several times before in our other numerous fantasy wish-list threads. :dead:
also there should be a range for rdx. so you cant blow them from the other side of the map :d.

Joint Operations had 150 players per game. How come games still haven't begin to break the 100 mark.
