Honestly my KDR sucks, but as I play now I kick аss! When I first started playing BF2, I had almost no experience plaing an online first-person-shooter. I had played maybe 3 hours of AVP total. I went from having a .5 kdr to well over 1 with already 100s of hours logged. I definately value KDR above all, aside from the stats of jet pilots; anyone can fly a J10.

Besides that, I would go with transport roadkills. I think I'm getting close to the top with this one, but I can't find a site with leaderboards for it.

Thanks for all the replies. It seems K/D ratio is a definite winner at this stage!

Can I ask what people conisder a "good" K/D ratio? Anything above 1.00? :)

I only play on public servers with no clan, so if Im honest my main goal is basically to try and get the gold medal. If my team wins its a bonus! I will run into situations where I know I will probably be killed if I can scrape a few extra points. Esspecially if Im medic; the allure of those 2 points for reviving someone is too hard to resist! I know this is selfish and consequently my K/D ratio suffers.

I think peoples K/D ratio is very dependant on whether you play in a clan. On the rare occassions where I have played in an organised squad with good medics, my K/D ratio is so much better.

Sometimes I think people put too much emphasis on the K/D ratio in relation to winning rounds. Dont forget if your team captures enough flags then the other teams tickets will "bleed" and the round will be over very quickly. Perhaps I should have included another poll option "Capure Flag/Capture Assist/Defend Flag points per hour". A pilot might have an amazing K/D ratio but lets his team lose all the flags, and consequently the round. Another person may have a rubbish K/D ratio but always defends and captures flags in dangerous positions.

Also, if people are interested in winning, why is the "Win/Loss" ratio not the most important to you? I know it is probably slightly bias towards losses, but over a number a rounds it should give a good relative indication of how much you contribute.

BTW Im amazed with the Kill Streaks people have been quoting! Thats mental! My highest is only 14! lol

I rarely play on the ground - always jet or heli and tank on city maps. That is why my K/D ration is >5, huge kill streak and 0.5 medals per round But don't get it wrong, I have a great respect for my ground troops/tanks and I always help as much as I can

And just because you see someone is scoring high in vehicles doesn't mean you can. Nubs crashing plane or heli every 30 seconds doesn't make any good to your team or you.

Like someone said a while back, K/D is overrated. You can sit sniping all day, or go rambo and get your *** handed to you. I think my global score and awards are what I aim for.

I really wish there were stats for how many of each vehicle you've killed. I'm the guy you see gunning down the helis with a dpv. I'm the guy dodging the apc rounds with C4 in my hand. I'm the guy in the F35 chasing the J10s. I'm the guy who whips out a knife in a gun fight. Really, the stat system doesn't show all this. The only real way to judge someone's skill is by watching them play or better yet, fighting against them.

Yeah I wish there was a 2 different K/DRs for weapons an vehicles. Kills with vehicles and deaths in that vehicle (like BF2) and kills with vehicles and how many times you've been killed by that vehicle (2142). No idea why they changed it from BF2 in 2142.

I don't really care much but if anything it would be mah precious dogtags in 2142

After that, probably my K/D, in both games.

i voted for K. although mine has only just surpassed 1. looking back i was pretty apalling when i started. i wouldn't say 1 was a good K but it's when you look at the persons history that shows if they are currently good. e.g. my kdr has been on the up for a long time, its just it was so low to start with.

I guess you haven't realized yet that a good KDR helps with everything you mentioned above.

You always want to get gold.....I can promise you that if you learn to survive longer you will always get that gold medal.

I play infantry most of the time and have a KDR of 2.14 and climbing. Most of the time the team I am playing on wins. I think going 75-12 has something to do with it.

You may also be confusing your cause and effect here, too. I find that I do better as an individual when I have a good team backing me up. That way I'm not being totally overwhelmed at every turn while the rest of my team is content to clayspam, or spawn as support when there are tanks around, or just take cars to rush to another flag instead of grabbing the tank, thereby leaving a nice fresh tank for the enemy to use when he arrives to take the flag. I mean Jesus, people...at least booby trap the damn thing before you go if you're not going to use it. :shakehead:

Anyway, what was I saying? Oh yes, the winning team. It may be that your team is winning because your KDR is going up, but it's just as likely, if not moreso considering the nature of a game like BF, that your KDR is going up because you're frequently on the winning team. Just some food for thought.

K/D ratio for sure. Mine is at the moment 8.6 and Im a first sergeant. Kill streak is also important, mine is 104 w/ chopper in wake. (I have a screen if you dont believe )
