lol i just played quake wars..wow...thats the first and last time... the graphics make everything else unenjoyable.. worst game i have ever played... How long until they start bringing out a decent flow of good games?.. it seems everything i buy is just crap despite the reviews and ratings.. The only game im 100% happy with is CoD4 so far.

My thoughts exactly.

1.2? killed it.

1.0 and 1.2 were the golden ages of BF2, in terms of gamplay and balance.

1.3 was the worst for crashes etc.

1.4(1) seems to be the best for stability in my opinion.

If you like SP games then I recommend Chaser. You should be able to get Chaser for a few bucks.
It`s an old game (2002/3 I think) and made by europeans so it`s got that "europe" feel to it like STALKER and such have. When I played it, I expected it to be complete crap but it was suprisingly good and the story was pretty awesome too.
Better than most high-budget shooters.

The only bad thing with ETQW is its stat tracking system and kudos screen. The disability to conveniently change server configurations vehicular wise is also an annoyance. Otherwise, its a breakthrough in PC videogames, as its 100% fully functional, skill dependant shooter with emphasis on raw skill. ETQW is excellent, but obviously hard for the newcomers.

I just hope they start bringing more decent games to pc rather than console otherwise we all might aswell get used to using game pads :p

I wouldnt worry Sniper, PC gamings death has been a long touted myth that has never emerged, you see now that titles like Burnout are coming to PC etc because companies might actually get off their arses and look at the piracy problem, it it even is one, half the time they whine when they have made complete junk

PC Gamers arent as easily fooled as console ones, and they dont accept sub par games, which is maybe why you have a harder time finding a decent game on a pc, higher standards and all

I would recommend the original Deus Ex if you havent played it, the second was ok but console influenced which made it lose quality

Hell, Knights of the Old Republic, rpg game, mouse click fighting, but its a ****ing brilliant game

Edit: + everyone at some point in their lives should play Stalker Shadow of Chernobyl, fully patched ofc, then you can prepare to soil yourself at its awesomeness

Newer Burnout games are NOT something to cheer or soil your paints for. Since EA took over, the level of intellect and seriousness in the series has faded to zero. Level of badas5ness has gone down to puppy love.

Anyone who wants to play through STALKER has to ditch the vanilla concept. In order to make STALKER into an even more extraordinary gaming experience, you need to install a series of full and minimods to enhance that experience. You need to install one of the major mods, which fix quests, translate NPC interaction and add a sh!tload of content into the SP, and then throw in weather mods, AI life mods, realistic weapons mods, various weapon name fixes, et cetera, et cetera.

The hard work of extraordinarily talented Russian/Ukrainian/Eastern European modders has created STALKER into one of the greatest SP games of all times. And theyve done so without SDK. I did some digging, and basically, Western modders gave up on STALKER a long time ago, whereas Eastern modders pushed on. This tells me that in the future, one should expect quite a number of interesting projects from the Motherland.
