    Re: Crouch or Prone?

I only prone if I am sniping or if I am trying to avoid getting crushed by a vehicle.

    Crouch for the win.

Lol, prone if its really close range. Otherwise crouch or stand, prone is pointless for camping you'll just get your head shot off.

            perfectly worded.

I always go prone if I have some preparation time (going around a corner or something) but crouch the rest of the time.

Yah... I wouldn't even prone when I'm sniping. The crouching accuracy is more than enough, unless I'm doing really, really, really extreme sniping from 400m away or something.... I feel too vulnerable when proning. The only time I really prone is if I'm trying to be really sneaky and hidden, but any decent sniper will spot your head from a mile away.

I've recently started trying to do the whole prone diving worm thingy that knifers seem to like to do, and I must say that it strangely does help me stay alive. =P

I think dolphin diving and insta proning is an embarassment in bf2. It makes the soldiers look like jumpy little pansies or action moviestars than men. One of the reason why i liked 2142 more is how it rewards teamwork more than individual players with good bullet dodging techniques.
QFT. Stop complaining how 2142 feels like walking in mud after BF2. Adjust and adapt to it.

I wish they'd go back to BF2 and 'fix' the insta-prone accuracy, TBH. Neither BF1942 nor BF:V had it, and BF2142 doesn't have it either. BF2 is the odd man out, and I'm glad they 86'd the idea in 2142. Hope it stays that way for BF3 (assuming they'll someday make one).

                    Re: Crouch or Prone?

Is 2142 the same as BF2 where in if you have a FAV driving towards you with a hostile intent to turn you into roadkill, that you can simply lie prone and the vehicle will go over you?
Or does your head get hung up on the axel, and get ripped off...

I'm pretty sure BF1942 had it, at least in the demo, but it was a bit less effective due to the terrain tilt.

Yeah BF1942 and BFV both had the terrain tilt thing, but I know for a fact BFV had the accuracy penalty when you first went prone. I remember having played the BF2 demo, then went back to BF:V for a while only to find myself getting screwed by my already-developed insta-prone habit. :dead:

Why'd they change so much of the basics in BF2? No one can shoot like that while diving, and what was wrong with the 1942 scope sway?

                            Re: Crouch or Prone?

BOTH but it depends how your using it.

i never prone while shooting at people unless its point blank range and its something to do to throw them off. I will prone dive and stuff to go over objects and avoid getting shot.

i dont know why people complain about "dolphin diving" i think its just because they arent technically able to usefully implement it themselves and theyre jealous

this is a peev of mine but i personally get smoking pissed at the mere sight of some noob crawl around a corner and shoot at me while laying on thier stomach. very p****ish.

most of the time crouching, if your using an AR type weapon anyways is the way to go because its a bit easier to go from crouching to moving again than going from prone to moving. and moving is king for not getting shot and killed duh. proners get blasted in the face crouchers blast in the face

                                we needed a poll.
