Is 2142 the same as BF2 where in if you have a FAV driving towards you with a hostile intent to turn you into roadkill, that you can simply lie prone and the vehicle will go over you?
Or does your head get hung up on the axel, and get ripped off...

You can run over a prone troop in the FAV and not hit him. I did it yesterday on Tampa. Engineer proned on the road - nice easy kill with the FAV i thought. Drove straight over him and he was untouched. Annoyed I jumped out and shotgunned him instead. :thumbsup:

As for proning - I can never get a comfortable feel for it. If using a mg I tend to just scope it and aim for the head. My prone action is assigned to my second thumb button on the MX Revolution and pressing that and the LMB whilst aiming feels uncomfortable.

What buttons do you use for your prone.

yea i use Z for prone, change crouch to C.
Then i can hit it with my thumb.
Meaning i can Jump Crouch Jump Crouch with minimal movement of the hand...
...yes im a lazy fu.ck...

As for my mouse, its a freebie from a conference my dad went to...

heh, its not being lazy at all, whatever makes your movements more responsive, giving yourself whatever advantage over other players.

crouch, although its annoying going back to bf2 and crouching and looking like a retard as your killed every time.

then you start proning and come back to 2142 and get owned again.

I dont know if this was mentioned or not becasue I didn't read all the posts on this subject. I find standing first then crouching helps me win all my one on ones, but be careful because if the opponent is aiming at your chest and you go to crouch you could lose because you went from a body shot to a head shot for your opponent. My favorite thing to use is partial cover if I have it available. Bobbing works really well too.

I also play BF2 and I hate that dolphin diving, but it is part of that game. I am also guilthy of bunny hopping to save myself, a lot of peeps hate that too, but what can i say if I can avoid getting killed regroup and re-engage and maybe win, is it truly wrong? I mean it wouldn't be in the game if it wasn't designed that way. I played 2142 before bf2 and I have a real hard time adjusting from crouching to proning. I crouch and lose very badly. My 2 cents on the subject.

aim at the crotch with most assault rifles especially with the baur unless your trying to be fancy and single shot them.

yeah i know what your talking about with standing and then crouching i remember getting killed by one person last night because i was shooting at thier face and then they crouched and the rest of my bullets missed, which is why aiming at the crotch is smart

to counter that stategy the best thing to do is shoot one headshot and the rest on the body. if they bunneyhop you will still kill them as you shoot his feet. and if the stay standing you will get some easy bodyshots.

TBH all you have to do is go AT in Bf2 and just smack them with a rocket when they go prone, insta-kill

crouching doesn't work too bad for bf2 in medium range or cbq. You can take a knee when you open fire upon them. And when they line you up in their ironsights to return fire, you can pull off a prone to evade that first shot, buying you an extra moment more to get the final shots in.

d=backpedal
w=commo rose
