hardcore is not that much of a skill drop, smaller hardcore servers you wont dominate on as a SC player since imo your not always 'ready to fire before you turn the corner' like you need to in HC since there is no room for any slowness.

On a large HC server though you will dominate coming from SC since you will naturally use more fire power against an enemy then a HC player meaning you kill all the last standers which in my experience makes up 90% of the HC population.

Not really. You are forgetting the values softcore players play on to be at the top of the leaderboard in SC. They are always ready to fire when they turn the corner, surprisingly it still matters who gets the first shot off (getting hit will mess your aim up). They will dominate in either large or small, It all depends on how well people adapt to different situations.

I disagree, on SC you always know that even if they shoot first you can still win. That is simply not the case in HC. On SC you know that you can make that piece of cover etc. so most are not always wired to shoot at each corner. Seriously on some HC servers you pretty much have to hold down the fire button before you turn to get the kills. Not needed in SC, but on a large server it doesnt matter, hence my point.

You're right. If the other player is unable to keep their sights on you for more than one or two shots, then yes, you can make it to that cover nearby or turn and fight (and possibly win). With hardcore, it is who can get the first accurate shot off because it takes so few to down somebody.

HC is a trade-off. You kill people faster, but you get killed faster. I think it would be a bit more fun, and overall more "balanced", if weapons such as the G3, RPD, etc. were tweaked - because as of right now a player can just spam the weapon in hopes of getting that single, deadly bullet on target.
I'm starting to like the increased damage (because I'm a sniper) but it does get quite annoying to be killed by the bloke who thinks he's a hotshot because he can RPD you across the map.

Imo Hc encourages camping, and I like my games to be nice and flowing. (everyone moving)

You may see more camping in HC (although I think some of it is players holding a position longer than normal to see if there's anyone out there (also camped) watching for them to move), but there's still a ton of it in SC as well.

The game itself encourages camping because of the way it's designed (powerful, accurate weapons, and due to the camo of the uniforms and how they blend into the background, detecting movement is a key element to this game. When you're camped, it's easy to watch for movement and fire on it).

Annoying, and unfortunate, IMO. I agree games are much better when players are moving (even slowly, carefully) around.

Camping isnt a bad trait, however. And its nowhere near as bad in COD4. Maps are generally fairly open and you get to approach the camper, or flush him out, using various different routes. Just feel lucky and fortunate, that COD4 isnt suffering from the "eye shots" development "oops". In SWAT4, the bullets dont fly from the hip, like in BF2, they fly from the eye level, which makes for some awful camping abilities.

And HC has a lot more camping than SC does, a lot more.

Yes, truly realistic that some dude will take a 5.56 to the chest, but *I'm* the one who's going to DIE by way of a shot to the foot. I've never forgiven HC for this glaring stupidity, and I don't intend to do so now either. It would've been more realistic to diminish the player's accuracy and/or mobility for limb shots, but hey... what the f*ck do I know, right?

Well it's more realistic than having to unload a whole magazine into someone just to kill them.

And I always have to put at least 3 rounds into someone to take them down, it's not one shot one kill unless you're using a sniper rifle... Pay more attention.

...Even the full magazine so many of the hardcore players whine about needing to kill one person is very over exaggerated, four rounds max from an assault rifle are needed to kill somebody (excluding the bugged AK47 with reflex sight and suppressor). Even the weapon that does the least possible damage per round (pistol) can down somebody (without juggernaut) with five shots maximum if you do not hit the the head modifier (there are no other modifiers for the pistol, pistol head modifier is 1.4x)...

As for the whole "reality" contest, you missed the point again.

SC was never meant to be realistic, so why come up with that argument? HC may be more realistic than SC, but compared to the other, realism-oriented games, HC is just as good as SC. OR just as bad.

Dysplasia- the minimum number of maximum rounds you need to hit to kill someone, would be 5. Thats 5 shots by 20HP. If they have Juggernaut, the counter goes up by one.

So if you need 10 shots to kill someone, then its your own fault, hence me pointing out the obvious flaw in your complaints. Dont blame SC for your own lack of skill. Want to hit and kill people with just 1 shot? SP that M40 and learn dragshots.
