The point is, you should NOT have to purchase a server yourself to play the game the way it was originally designed! It's as simple as that.

So if no one rented a server, where would everyone play??? Have IW put their own servers up for everyone to play on? I'm not sure on that. I know EA have some of their own servers for BF2, just wondered...

I said you could rent or host, host meaning off your own PC. Which wouldn't cost anything...

As for playing CoD4 how it should be played, that's you opinion, mine is that CoD4 should stay with HC. I have 2 servers, both HC and wouldn't change them for anything. :yay:

Going by the amount of people discussing/complaining about the lack of SC servers. Surely you could all form an alliance and rent one together? Nothings for free in this world and never will be. Also, I doubt server owners are going to change to SC through topics like this.

Again...

You could save yourself 30mins by renting or hosting a server yourself! If the server owners wish to run HC, that's none of your concern. Getting angry because server owners wish to run the server how they want too, doesn't make any sense whatsoever!

I'm getting angry at the fact that there is NO WAY to distinguish between them. There are a of servers that say "HC" in the name. Fair enough, they are hardcore. Then the rest don't. Out of those servers, almost 90% of them are hardcore. Very few people put softcore in the titles, usually you have to search on an third party server browser to even find it.

I may not of played the other CoD's, but I've played other games of the same nature. BF2 for example, Quake, Unreal list goes on..... At the end of the day, there all the same old arcade game. With Cod4 it feels different for me, I don't know if its the HC setting, or something else. But I've been playing CoD4 for a good few months now and I'm still enjoying it! Which is more I can say for the other arcady games...

As for telling you how the game is meant to be played, I really think you should learn how to read. I said... "In my opinion it should stay with the HC setting". Even if you have played all the other CoD's, that still doesn't give YOU the right to say how it should be played! If all the developers listened to kids, games would never improve... Making them the same boring game as before.

Call of Duty 4 was not made to be a hardcore war simulator game.

If you think that Hardcore mode in COD 4 is like a simulation, you haven't played hardcore.

Look around at how many people describe their experience with hardcore mode, then compare it a simulation like ArmA or OFP or Americas Army. They want it to be a simulator. Servers feature no running , no hip fire, no jumping. Even people in this thread there are people pulling real life facts about weapons, though this is a video game. They want it to be as real as they can get it..

That would be awesome, but they won't. A filter would do the same thing and it will be a lot more reliable.

TBH, I don't see why people make stupid rules about disabling things that is part of the game!

Ok, martyrdom, GL's, bunnyhopping etc... Are annoying for some people. But its an arcade game! If server owners can't enforce it by completely disabling that certain feature its pointless! The only possible way to do that is making the server modded. Otherwise admins will never get a game... I've had this discussion with my clan members many times before.

I've been banned from a few servers because of this. Ie, shooting from the hip, or using my GL, then questioning why they make a rule so players can't use it when its part of the game. The funny thing is, few of there clan members do it themselves which I really don't understand.

I don't think HC mode makes CoD4 a simulator at all. I just enjoy playing it more with HC. If I want a simulator I will play ArmA, which is by far the best possible game for that.

At the end of the day, you can't make CoD4 a simulator. SC and HC are 2 different modes, but neither makes the game a simulator.

Well if you find a SC server, why don't you have a word with the owners and tell them they will get a lot more players if they have SC in their server title? Therefore drawing in more players. Even point them to this discussion if they don't believe you. lol...

No hip fire? No jumping? No running? I've never come across these rules, then again I only play on my clan's servers and we don't have such rediculous rules.
