When I'm SL, I leave the squad, because people don't follow me or don't respawn on me, so I end up getting killed at the flag or on the way to the flag, then I have to walk all the way there alone. I usually tell them to follow or leave the squad, if they don't listen I kick them, and if they rejoin, I leave.

I am not questioning the tatic to suicide. Its a good, smart thing to do. So is hitting a flag will full numbers. But.....



This is a expliot. The patch tried to stop this.

Now waiting for the SL to run out of sprint before others spawn in, is a good tatic, if you got a long way to get to a flag and speed is needed. (like for a roundstart).
But making new squad leaders, disbanding squads and making new ones is an expliot. A SL should be an SL.

In my tourny at 21cw, when we used to play BF2, we never squad hopped or made new SL's just to expliot the system. We played to the spirit of the patch and BF2 on the whole.
Nor did we just have medics in our squad. But thats cos we never just played Infantry only. We always had armor and other stuff to deal with. Plus, we needed to defend our flag after. Cant really do that with just a bunch of medics.

But I got issues with clans and medic only squads. They run about from one flag to another, without a care in the world. In a normal BF2 game, that just dont cut the mustard. You have to defend flags too. Throw out some claymores, throw out some mines, use the armor, use lines of fire, jump in the AA, etc.

I suggest if you want real squad/team play then join a toury like 21CW.

I see your points but I only Play Infantry now . Sorry i cant play in your 21CW as your sig is rather questionable. I like playing with Medics but I dont like playing with Medics .

I love to lead but I'll leave if I'm needed in the real world. Otherwise I'll usually see the round through. If a squad leader leaves it's usually because they don;t have much experience in which case if MY SL is acting like a total tit and won't communicate with his squad, I'll usually leave and create my own so I can manage my side of the battle better. Anyone who's played with me knows that I'm a tough SL but then again, I do it to try and bring the squad together so that we can win. One thing I can't stand is when I invite people, they join my squad and then go and do what they want ignoring me totally. Why TF would you accept if all you're going to do is run off in your own direction and ignore the SL's orders? I'm rambling now so I'll shut up but sometimes I just don't get people.

for a few reasons:

1) if they're in a jet or some other limited person vehicle
2)If someone else is in a better tactical position

Me, I like my lads to hold spawn till Im near, then let them come in and do all the work.
A good SL, wont have many kills nor many deaths.
A good SL is just a spawn point. The skill is getting to a good place to hide thats near the flag and staying alive. Its your squad members who do all the killing and capping.

yes, that is what a squad leader is for, if you have a group of people that play together regularly and communicate, eg a clan or whatever.
but the reason people dont play like this in BF2 is because it lacks appeal due to it not being a rewarding position points wise.
