One of my new favorite maps is Shuia Tabia conquest. That map is humongous. There are so many ways around things. And so many ways to approach a CP. But get near the center CP and you have a massive tank/walker battle.
I agree - v.good map, that one. It's great when you end up having air-transport battles with the opposing side on that large building/storage tank to the left of the central silo.

If you get an assault with a defib, a SAAW guy and a support - you can literally be on that roof for months.

I always fell asleep on Shuia Tabia. Way to large, it take centuries to go from one CP to another with the tank. If you like tank/walker battles go to Suez or Minsk. Just big enough to have armour battles and still enjoy some infantry scrimmages.

Always played Titan on Sidi and Suez, but since I played Camp Gibby extensively there's no going back, it's the adrealine flowing...

I find CG decidedly boring without a squad of clanmates behind me, but Cerbere I find a lot easier to play alone..

I played it alot initially when I was young and naiive, it still scars my stats page because I really don't like the map.

Except for the Jihad colors of the environment, it's a great map in my opinion. If CG would be as beautiful as Cerbere, that would be nice.

Yea, Camp G is best if it is 32 players. Anything above that then the battle usually stays at the docks or held up at toll station.

But its fun with clan members, great for shotguns and setting up apm around corners!

agreed- i hate Shuia Tabia- i just hate it so much- dull and annoying unless you like aircraft. maybe conq. is good, but titan is so boring! i always get -kdr on that map b/c i likke to practice my flying on that map, which results 97% of the time in a crash and some pissed teammates who decided to spawn on my raft.

I have to think if you're crashing 97% of the time on that particular map, then it's probably THE best one for you to practice ON. Now, maybe you should just practice on it off-line instead, but that's a decision for you to make. Are you flying a gunship or a transport? it sounds like maybe you're trying to pull off too many fancy moves too close to the ground, and it's certainly cluttered in all the hot action spots... easy to clip something and end up in a ball of flames.

More or less why I dislike it... its ugly. I have a heightened perception of aesthetics :dead:

That's part of its appeal, imo. In the rare occasions that I play Camp G - I just charge in like Rambo and take on anything in sight. Naturally, I die quite quickly, but I don't really 'care' as I know I'll be respawning about 100 yards away.

With maps like Tabia - I'm much more careful about taking risks. The downsides from respawning miles away from the action - and more importantly, your team-mates, make it an important factor.

That's why I like the large maps - always have done. You don't just think of that small plot of space in front of you - more likely you have to think of the bigger map as a whole.

Still, it comes down to the type of gameplay you like. Conquest is just plain boring compared to Titan mode, imo. There's just not enough strategy involved.

I really like Titan Shuhia Taiba and Sidi Power Plant for great air/ground combat with a final fight for teh Titan! Good times.

But, Cerbere Landing has some of the best fighting by far for infantry battles. Camp G is over-rated IMO. It's fun fo sho, but it can also get boring if you play it too much.

One of my personal favs was already mentioned: Belgrade. It has vehicle battles on the outskirts, intense CQC in the building, and there's lots of room for flanking.

If you're looking for the smaller maps, FPS has just setup a server to rotate through ALL Official BF2142 maps at the 16-player size. It's a MyIS server in St. Louis, so if you're anywhere in the US your ping should be decent.

@ Drewsy; that is based on opinion.

Some people like Cerbere better, other like camp better. For me, Cerbere is more fun revive whoring to the flag then taking a flag in 4 seconds with a 6 man squad. Also I like it better because it feels more outdoorish for an infantry map. Camp G is great to, but I prefer Cerbere.

i would like 16 player verdun if there wasnt a damned APC and Walker that respawn every 5 seconds right after you blow them up. there would be some niice infantry fighting in the center of the map if those blasted vehicles werent around

QFT regarding Verdun 16, it's also compounded by the fact there's a big stretch of open ground between each uncap and the first flag, get pushed back to your uncap and basically you're snookered.

I'm going to nail my flag in the anti Camp Gib mast. Most people ignore the main fact why Joe Average Pub likes it, the CQC and chokepoints equate to a lot of possible points. Points for a lot mean prizes. For me, if I end up in one more spamfest where EU have ruin and EU Base and PAC the prior 3 flags.... It's the 2142 equivalent of a James Blunt album.
