It is good, but when it gets too chaotic, there's literally zero skill involved and it falls back to just pure luck instead. On top of that, the game engine struggles to cope with that much havoc going on in such a small area.
By the game engine you mean your poor little computer I can handle a 60 Man Gibraltar quite easily. Not that I play on them, I don't find the constant nadespam appealing... I like 32 man Gib, not as much spamming going on.

However Titan mode is my real love

i agree with fin- camp g is my favorite, esp. 32 man camp g. suez is ok, i like to tank spam, but i dont get enough kills to bring my kdr back up, so its only camp g unless my clan is on something else.
but whats beyond me is why belgrade is rarely on. its a really good map b/c its somewhat large, some vehicles, and some intense battles are going on, and to top it off, the pac doesnt have as much of an advantage b/c its snowy and its hazy, enabling the Eu to kinda blend in....
and same with tunis, but no snow, and the EU definitely dont blend in.

Camp G is Karakand for 2142 (which I am guessing you all know) so try Camp G in 50 or lower player servers and it wont be AS bad. Other than that I do agree that I like Ceber more than Camp G, but Titan Suez wins the cake for me since I like it more than CQ.

Overall, Camp G is just an awesome map! Second best in the game IMO, Suez Canal takes the cake (Sorry, Gunship whore :p)

            Camp G = Karkand
            Suez = Wake

Why do people play them so much? They are good maps! It is frustrating, though, when you want to play something else and there are 30 servers running the same map and the ones running other maps are not populated.

This game would be better with infantry maps that didn't suck. None of are really that great.
That's why it's so popular. Easy points for minimal effort. It's a shame they never made the infantry centric maps as less cluster ****ed as the BF2 city maps.

Re: What's with the Camp G fetish?

I think it all depends on who you're playing with. I think there's actually a fare amount of strategy involved for the PAC if the EU has set up a good defense in the Toll. It's nice to see some creative ways the PAC comes up with to break it. Then the EU has to counter with even stronger D to keep them out. However, If no one's really coordinated.... the PAC never breaks the Toll, or EU never set up D in the first place.... the rounds can get really repetitive, and boring, pretty quick. As you can see, I'm one of those who feels the outcome has alot to do with what happens at the Toll. Not the whole game, but a good part of it.

As for Karkand being like CampG, I'd say they're very similar, but at least on Karkand there were ways around some of the choke points. You're weren't forced through an area like the Toll, and you could swim across the river and bypass all the central CPs to get to the back MEC CPs. As long as there wasn't a sniper by the docks.

True, except for the fact that Wake is incredibly unbalanced.

                      cuz its a good map,
one thing i hate about 2142 is that most maps suck,
                      best inf maps = Tunis\CampG
balgrade is nice but too simple celebre landing is pretty good.

i hope they bring the mappers from BF2 to BF3 cuz almost all BF2 maps were awesome

Camp is very fun with buddies, I play a huge variety though, best mode being titan, and best map switching between suez and camp. If you look at my awards, you can tell I balance most of everything accept titan guns. The people who play hundreds upon hundreds of camp rounds and less than ten of other maps just gets to me. How can you do nothing but play that map, those people need to seriously try new things.

Suez is a lot better than Wake. Both teams' bases are similarly placed and there's actually room to maneuver without having to whore the aircraft.

Hmmm, guess it depends what your lighting settings are. From my sights, no one blends in anywhere.

i think they need more small maps like camp G and i dont understand why people never run the small versions of all the maps. I think the small versions are actually a way better size for playing. some maps are too big in my opinion and alot of the space in some of the maps is never even used because there is such large distances between flags.

yeah with people that never play anything else..i have Anthony1977 on my buddy list and i looked at his stats and he has ZERO kills with the gunship. and has played practically nothing but campG. especially if you had a good computer i cannot comprehend why you wouldnt even try some of the other things that are in the game.

I usually play infantry maps but i've played a certain amount on titan and vehicle maps too

Please...God no....no more tight, microscopic maps.
One of my new favorite maps is Shuia Tabia conquest. That map is humongous. There are so many ways around things. And so many ways to approach a CP. But get near the center CP and you have a massive tank/walker battle.
