And talk about a simply awful choice for getting a server popular. But whatever, your call. It's doubtful I personally will be on it much .

Edit: Just seen the new sub-forum at the top
    Aweful?

It's the best air map! What would you propose? Karkand? Jalalalalalalalalalabad? We specifically chose an air map because there are already too many groundpounding servers.

    What's the alternative to Dalian?

Daqing? People will complain about the map being large, sky being foggy, mobiles, etc...
    Kubra? Again, lots of complaints.
    Dragon? Same thing.

What's left? Oman and Fushe? Not many people prefer those maps to Dalian.

How about rotating Dalian, Oman, and Daqing? Those are the three best air maps. Daqing is probably my favorite because there isn't a carrier where you can be stuck. But there is a reason they picked Oman for the demo. It's a pretty good map.

        God no, not Jalalabad.

Anyway, it's weird how you went through the maps without mentioning the most prevalent (Which would be my map of choice by the way), Wake.

I'm seriously bemused at this dreadful idea of taking an awful map, and putting it on 24/7. But it's your call.

I have no idea why Karkand and Wake are the most popular maps. In my opinion, they are the worst in the game. Karkand is usually a grenade fest for infantry and then spawncamping with armor shortly after. Wake is normally a race to rape the carrier if Chinese or the Airfield if USMC.

            WAKE?! ROFLMAO

So you want our 24/7 server to be based around a stacked map? With limited vehicles? With jew'd gameplay? Come on.

Oh god, I really can't be fvcked getting into an argument -.-

Firstly calm down, it's nothing to get so worked up about.

What's so bad about wake? 50 times better than Dalian

Wake almost always ends up being a huge waste of time for everyone not in an air vehicle. Which most of the time ends up being the entire U.S. team hiding under the carrier or getting blown up as soon as jets or helicopters spawn.

Common excuses for this stat-padding, nearly always from teamswitchers who stay on Chinese:
"It's their own fault for getting stuck on the carrier."
Bulls hit, they start with only the carrier and it's uphill from there.
"It's just poor air support from their pilots."
Bulls hit, the missile-deflecting best jet against the missile-magnet worst jet just adds to the shenanigans.
"There are boats for a reason."
Bulls hit, those slow-moving pieces of crap never make it to shore with good pilots in the air and tanks/DPVs/FAVs sitting on shore chewing them up.
"The Essex has the Phalanx for defense, you just don't know how to use it."
Bulls hit, any competent pilot chews up the Phalanx before he even gets into lock range, and the chaingun on that thing only takes a couple bars off of a jet before it dies.

I don't feel like typing anymore, but you get the idea.

So basically, you're argument is based around the imbalance of the two armies?

Quite hilarious, seeing as how Dalian Plant gives China an uncappable base, equalling constant J10s and nothing USMC can do about it !

The difference is, Dalian is quite balanced in terms of ground gameplay and, to a certain extend, air.

Both helis are (for our purpose) identical in ability, so I won't dwell on them.

China has jet superiority, but IGLAs are well placed to keep them busy. Since the map is relatively small, it's easy to make them flare and hide.

Yes, USMC can be beaten back to the carrier, but that's usually because the players don't understand the concept of capping flags, or capping the right flags in a particular order, among other things.

Another big reason? Jet pilots not bailing out over Warehouse or Maintenance. I can't even begin to count how many times I've singlehandedly captured those bases for USMC when we had been capped out.

Like I said, when USMC gets capped out and gets baseraped, it's usually their own fault.

                    Dalian is a great map.

You're making it sound so complex when it's really simple:

                      China = Constant J10s = F35's/Ground AA/Helicopters killed with ease

                      Who do you think wins?

Playing an air map, I'd actually like to feel like I'm helping contribute to an ultimate victory. Maybe you enjoy grabbing planes and bailing out over obscure flags - but for me personally, it's not really the highlight of my gaming playtime, at least on Wake you can attempt to grab airfield and hit the Achilles heel of China.

Unfortunately, this very Achilles heel happens to have a large, red "UNCAPPABLE" sign conveniently placed right over it on Dalian

Dalian is by far the best air map ...nice job of trying to explain that Sloi, which should be as easy as 2 + 2.

Killed with ease? Not necessarily. If I have decent pilots on my side, my heli takes care of the rest. Assuming the groundpounders actually try to cap flags and do so intelligently, we can easily cap them out and put the bleed on. WTF are the J10s going to do then? You can't do sh*t. I can't even count the number of times PLA lost despite having overwhelmingly superior jets: you're missing the fact that they're not capping anything, so unless their team is doing its job, we're going to win eventually. It's unavoidable.

Oh, and hopping out to a flag is meant to kickstart the USMC back into flag-capping mode. If my bail is all it takes to get things back on track, I'll do it. After that, we can resume standard play.

It only takes 1 solid player with a bag of experience on Chinas side to render the whole USMC air force useless. Both F35Bs and the choppers. Dalian is not a balanced map. It may be balanced between 2 chopper pilots, but only if there are complete idiots on China J10 air force. Some of the highest J10 whoring scores have come from Dalian, next to Wake.

IGLAs will quickly be turned against USMC as China caps the Americans out while they dont have any air support.

The only defending aspect is that its relatively hard to hit the choppers with J10s cannons, but all you have to do, is a little practice, and its game time.

[EDIT] As for the server, if youre going in, leave me a message. Sloi, that goes for you too.

Sure. And on Wake, if all USMC players "cap flags and do so intelligently", even they'll win eventually.

Chris said it all really. Sloi, your theory might make sense in an ultimate, perfect, ideal situation.. unfortunately that's more or less never going to happen.

Hell, even if your argument was true, that USMC do have a big chance of whooping China's ***. Then what? Half the players are China, don't forget. Are they all supposed to just sit around Airfield, doing heck all? 32 players all competing for 2 jets, 1 helicopter, and a few armoured vehicles? How fun.

Meh, in all honesty I'm not arsed. I would like to play on the server with an actual intelligent gaming community, but if it means constant rape from J10s, fvck that. You guys can have fun though :)

Edit: Although doesn't look like your having that much fun, or much of anything for that matter:

On average, both teams will fare about the same. You very rarely get really good jet or heli pilots in the air (I almost exclusively pub now, so I can confirm this is true... but don't take my word for it, explore!)

As for the server, give it a chance. I'd be surprised if more than 25% of the forum community knew of its existence...

We'll try to populate it on Friday evening. If that doesn't work, we'll figure something out.
