Not even. $280 or so for the most basic version.

If someone's PC only needs a vid card upgrade to run COD4 well, then buying a 360 + adapter might not be viable. But if someone needs a better CPU and/or RAM as well, then a 360 + adapter is cheaper.

There's lots of other pros and cons on either side of the argument too - I'm not trying to say one is better than the other, especially when your gaming preferences also factor in. But just from a cost-perspective, it's not as clear-cut as some may think for the average gamer.

Personally, as soon as mouse/kybd support is standard/proven for Consoles, I'll probably abandon the PC as a gaming platform. Upgrades are becoming too expensive, and the standardization of hardware on Consoles is very appealing. Mods and such on PC are nice, but aren't enough to make up the difference for me. Plus fewer/no cheaters on Console, and the comfort of sitting on a couch in front of a big HDTV. And as much as we like to make fun of Console gamers being kiddies, there's a ton of them on PC as well, and adult demographics for Consoles are growing each day. There's a lot to consider, depending on how future technology and hardware pan out over the coming yrs.

Plug your PC into the TV. Same as having an x360 with a keyboard and mouse. Plus it has interwebs, applications other than games like IM programs, players for music, videos, etc, Total Gaming Network, all that other fun stuff no one thinks about until it's gone since they take it for granted.

You say a PC is more expensive, but chances are you'll still want/need one if you use consoles for gaming, so you just end up buying two things. And the more features you add to a console, the more of a PC with a controller it becomes. They might as well integrate.

I just recently played through all the MG and MGS games again and now CoD4 feels much different, because you go from sneaking and putting-dead-bodies-in-a-locker gameplay to a fast paced S&D. And that just feels good...

Still MGS is much better then CoD :p
I also keep changing weapons and tactics in CoD4, so it doesn't get boring in a while. Playing Sniper for a while felt like a relief from being on the front the whole time getting blown up by Martyrdom.

thats the good thing about CoD4, unlike BF2, you have the freedom to choose the variety of ur kit, so you may get bored but only after you have played everysingle possible combination... but thats hard...

Well, I wouldnt know the costs for sure as I dont own any consoles. Yes there are pros and cons to both.

The best PRO for a console I have ever heard was that if you are not technically savy and dont want to mess with all the PC BS that comes with PCs, a console is a great way to go.

No patches of OSes
No weird bootup or issues
"Easy" to plug in and go compared to PC
Throw in CD and play
Minor install time on a harddrive, if you even have to do that (I dont know)
Little kids can do it and not destroy your tax documents in the proccess.
Viruses? Dont think so.
Spyware? No.

Heck, you could get a lower end PC to do all your business stuff and the XBox for gaming. 800 for PC 280 for Xbox is still less than 1600 for Uber system.

Yes, if you have a PC already and it can do a minor upgrade, and you have the knowledge to do it, its probably a good deal.

Or do both, I dont care.

Yeh Im bored - played this to death since it came out, but it needs some new official maps / bonus content followed by a paid for expansion pack which gives more single player missions, new classes and weapons.

Custom maps are too much of a pain for me - cos its like counterstrike where u are sat round for ages waiting for rubbish custom files to download.

I havent played COD4 since frontlines fuel of war came out

well guys here is why we get borred :

to many 10-14 years old retarded kids wich can't understand that's a tactical shoter and they play this game like it is quaqe.
i'm allways called camper , well wtf should i do with a sniper? runing around and melle ppl?
nobody play it in team , i mean 2 ppl watch an entrance another 2 a corner etc. all are runing like a scarred rabit shoting 90% random.

now about activison fault :

they should add more maps , big ones
they should remove the airstrike from mp (all ppl is going insane to get the amount of kills for get the airstrike , this cause a total chaos and makes all ppl runing around for kills not for theyr side to win the map)

my opinion :

we need to find/make server with max player 20/20 for we can play normal (when are more then 20 ppl it's a chaos total)
we need to stop playing on the servers with fast respown (if u die , u need to w8 for next round)
we need to stop playing on the server wich it show u from where u got killed (this discover ur position and also the others position if somebody else is with u watchin a spot)

Good points.

We have implemented ALL that on our servers except the spawn time being forever. We did have that part implemented as well and people hated it. We do have spawn times as "punishment" for dying though.

We like that setup
