I don't want CoD4 to be like BF2. Some of the quirks you've mentioned are tolerable, and present a certain aspect of difficulty that forces me to be at the top of my game, even when I'm just screwing around. - When I knife someone, I sure as heck make sure not to linger over his dead body, waiting for a grenade to blast me. Yes, it can get frustrating at times, but if I die, it's my fault for dying to something that is avoidable.

Personally, I like having two different games to play whenever I feel like playing them.

To me this is the same thing as the people crying for changes in Frontlines: Fuel of War - I don't want it to be another homogenized BF2 ripoff... I don't want Call of Duty 4 to be changed to meet the 'feel' of other games. It has it's own feel that I love - even the things I used to hate, I've grown to love.

Why do people want games to be exactly like the games they left?

Its what they* know and can relate to. Its something people compare with. Its not just games, but everything we do. Everyone has an idea of what that perfect game is and are looking for it. They try to have all their good qualities in one game to have that uber game.

Nothing wrong with it, but people can get all crazy about it and never find a game they like in the end.

      Crunch

      * By they, I mean me as well. I didnt like ET:QW because of how the vehicles felt compared to the BF serires.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars is the only game on TGN that I don't own. (That has been released.)

So I can't comment. I've only played it at my friends house, and the only reason I haven't bought it yet, is because CoD4 came out.

LOL, well if you want my advise (which I know everyone here does ) check it out on the demo first. Im glad I did. Thinking it may have been because of the demo, I played the full version on a friends PC and it was the same for me.

When I built my new system, my video card came with Crysis. Im glad it did, because I would have been mad paying for it.

            A) Agree
            B) Agree or take them out completely
            C) Removing Bunny hopping form BF2 and 2142 was a big mistake even tho I don't bunny hop often its stupid that you cant even jump with your pistol and shoot, a different thing with the LMGs and the RPG's but it doesn't bother me, every bunny hoper is taken down as easy as someone just running from side to side (which I more often do). My point is tweaking a game is what killed BF2 since patch 1.20 or so the BlackHawk became useless you couldn't throw a C4 without it sticking to you nut sack, what you cant throw a peace of plastic 3 feet gimme a break. I didnt care when it was used against me in Counter Strike or BF2 pure none-patched version, it gave a player a different way to fight, Its just a game not a combat simulator get over it.
            D) Don't tweak this leave it as is its retarded that you can't shoot same thing it killed the gameplay of BF2.
            E) If your smart enough you don't get killed by Mortydoom often, just keep away from the person you just killed knifed. I rarely get killed by it and I don't mind it being a tool for less skilled players to get some kills. Noobs use that perk, and noobs get killed by it. Leave it as is, whats more annoying then mortydoom are grenade launchers but there part of the game and tweaking them wouldn't make much sense.
            F) Helicopters don't mind them i got used to them, A wise tactic is when one is deployed just stay in a building for a while, I totally agree with the higher kill requirement anyone can get 5 kills throw 3 grenades kill 3 people shoot people you get air strike then you just deploy the air strike and there is the chopper for ya. 10 and 15 seems more reasonable.
            G) Spwns as long as the spwn time isn't 5 sec or less the spwns are not so bad, when its less then that you kill 2 people they spwn on the third person behind the wall and come to get ya when your still reloading which is retarded.
            H) Its really a minor glitch which does not bother me at all.

By =)BiT(=AutoFodder "It would have been ingenious to have put you in the cockpit. Just hide in a quiet spot, press your air support button and see through the eyes of the gunner (whilst still being vulnerable on the ground). You wouldn't fly the thing of course, just man the gun."

Very good Idea too, at least it makes the player do something.
It takes absolutely no skill to get kills with it and It shouldn't count towards your score more like for the team score... I mean what did you do press 6 you strain your finger to do that? come on....

Personally I wouldn't change a thing in COD4 its the best FPS game I played so far, it has its cons that I don't like, but It also has things I enjoy that make the cons fade away.
I hate when a game is tweaked it gives some people what they wanted but makes others say "**** this game it sucks now" thats what made me put my BF2 CD on the shelf and not play it as much as I did before again.

It doesn't have to make everyone happy to be a perfect game... it just has to make me happy :)

Because they came from other games, and they usually have LOTS of hours. So they want an easier transfer from game to game.

Yeah exactly People have natural resistance to change, some adapt, some just give up or more often enough just whine about it to be changed to their preference

That's a very good point. Once people learn to pwn at something, they often don't want to have to start all over again. This is one (of the many) reasons for the large numbers of people still playing CS too.

                        Not true.

When I started playing COD4, my average S&D 6 win matches ended at 1:12 or 0:12 KDR. Pathetic and sad. I didnt call the game bad or stupid. I loved it. I can rack up 22:2 on occasion now.

People point out references to other games because there are aspects which worked flawlessly in those games.

Wait, what? Did someone forget about my mentioning of the horrible KDR Ive got when I started with COD4? And the fact that despite that, I loved the game?

You were speaking generally about the people, and not yourself.

If you don't like your references being misconstrued, you should stick to speaking for yourself. :)

                                No.

Im using myself as an example telling that youre wrong. Take it from your own perspective, you dont switch games because the next one is just the same as the old one, in "better clothing", you switch to a new game because it is fun to play. Or better yet, more fun to play than the old one which coincidentally was getting... you know... old.

Youre trying to put us down by thinking we cant get off BF2 and the only way we could, was if the next one was a BF2 clone. No. Wrong.

And yet... even though I put forward an example of myself switching between games while being a very picky bastard, you somehow still managed to get a completely different idea about it.

                                Not nice.
