No. This is still miles away from happening unless someone sensible steps up to speak to MyIS

    Right:

I've just been speaking to MyIS and:

I asked about a clan pay type system, but they cannot do that. Which means, we have to either use someones paypal account or create one under the name of the TGN team. Each donater puts monies into that and hopes to hell that the owner won't run off with the monies.

[09:15PM] myiscliff: we don't have clan pay. The easiest thing for them to do it designate or create a PayPal account for their team. Each member pays the paypal account and then the owner makes the one payment

Ok. At Oli's request and with the blessings of the one known as Dan, I've gone and set up a PayPal for the purpose of paying for the TBF2 server. Since I'm an admin here, I doubt it'd go over very well if I just went and ran off with the money (and I'm just not that type of person).

For the first month, I imagine we'd have to just collect the donations directly, but I may be able to get a more automated approach set up a bit further down the road.

The account (which is the same as my e-mail for ease of contacting me) is webmaster961@gmail.com (I actually use a different account for all my other personal stuff, so this one is dedicated to the TBF2 server.

I believe we will go with what we decided upon earlier in the thread - a donation of $0.95 per month will gain you the ability to kick to make room on the server, and a donation of $5.00 or more per month will give you voting rights to the admin council which decides all the server policies, map rotations, and such as that. Of course, higher donations are certainly welcomed (and in this first stint perhaps needed). If you do donate, please send me a PM with your paypal address and the amount you donated so I'll know who to line what donation up with (placing your TGN account name in the extra info field would also be helpful). Please be sure to read post 124 if you plan to donate in a currency other than the United States Dollar.

This server will be located in New York (or at least that's where I plan to order it) as to accomodate our EU friends who want to play as well (hopefully with a ping under 200, lol).

I'll be running these donations for one week to establish the first main council which will then establish the initial ruleset and map rotation. This means that on March 4, 2008, I'll compile the initial list of people who should have kick-rights as well as a seat on the council for the next month (until Apr. 4, 2008). Any donations made after this date will take effect when they are received (by me) and will last until the 4th. Until I get said automated system, that's the most effective way to do it, I'm afraid.

So here goes folks. :salute: Let's make it happen.

          :) You rock.

Of course, I may need to adjust the prices a bit, as PayPal charges their fees on top of the donations (they skimmed 38 cents off of that 2.00 donation).

So, it looks like I'll need to update my original numbers:

$1.25 will cover kick-for-slot powers and $6.00 will cover the council membership for users not paying in US Dollars.

          Silly PayPal.

          Allow me to clarify:
This actually only applies to those not paying in USD. There's a transaction fee when they convert currencies, so that's rather unfortunate for those who want to pay with other currencies. For those in the US, the prices remain at the original $0.95 for kick-for-slot powers and $5.00 for council powers.

I'll donate $20 tomorrow night. I just bought something fairly big and I get paid tomorrow, so, yeah. Hopefully that will help start things off.

As I as of yet do not have a PayPal of my own, I am going to have to wait at least a week before my dad gets back and can pay.

eChecks are taking about 8 business days to clear, so I'll be able to purchase the server on March 6th, 2008.

As of right now, we have $28.46 USD with one six dollar donation uncleared. So, we will be able to go ahead with this. :)

Unfortunately, I may need to adjust the donation rates again, but I'm going to need to crunch some numbers first. PayPal took about 30% off of a credit card donation ($1.25 became $0.88), so I'm going to need to adjust that too. .

I wont be using PayPal, but I will be using a credict card transaction. Will be higher than 1 buck for sure, I will take some time to sort out the details, itll be a monthly donation.

When are we going to advance to the next step? And when can we expect the server to be up and running?

I was wondering if zie council, would allow Battlerecorder to run, so we could make hilarious videos when people get owned and use them in a forum debate later on.
