Seconded. I only hope these patches fix things like bugs and glitches but not affect anything gameplay wise. I'm sure IW know what they're doing and will not screw up this game like EA have done with BF2. I've installed the 1.5 patch but haven't played yet so I can't say for sure but if it's not added yet I'd like to be able to look for specific servers by typing their name in a search box.Originally posted by Fusiona friends tab, i cant express how much easier it would be to join my friends in a server with this function!Comment

i like the way you think:thumbsup:
He can have a doggy kevlar vest and helmet so he doesnt die with just one shot. You hold the leash and can click it like a gun at a person and the dog bounds off to attack. Maybe have a close range thing so that you cant just send your dog loose attacking across the map.

Re: Stuff you like to see in 1.6
Not that I ever use it but the RPG is pitiful. You would probably be better off trying to clonk someone over the head with the thing. More splash or More damage (not both though).
Oh and anyone noticed that whole phantom claymore thing? Where your clay will just blow up for no reason at all...
Plus the standards, HC filter, lessen chopper aimbot/wallhax skills, buddy system, cancel downloads (HATE it when the file is huge and will take 10 minutes or something, do I really have to ctrl-alt-del?), more maps, more guns, trained attack dogs etc.
Wouldn't mind a rudimentary spotting system. Not like 2142 or anything but your teammates could see a general reddened area on the map like if you called it in on a radio.Comment

Re: Stuff you like to see in 1.6
another thing that REALLY p**ses me off.. is the 50.cal... whats its deal? i have shot someone square on and they havent died.. and thats with me using stopping power.. i think they should add more individuality between sniper rifles.. i mean the druganov is pretty much just as powerful as the 50.cal despite its apparent power in its stat sheet.
i have also shot a guy 4 times through a wall with the 50.cal and he didnt die until the 5th hit.. it gets a bit frustrating.Comment

Re: Stuff you like to see in 1.6
yeah this game doesnt really work with balance... it rewards good players with airstrikes and heli's.. balance isnt this games moto... They should decrease the 50.cal's rate of fire and increase its damage..Especially through the wall damage..Originally posted by Keyelite^ it's called balanceComment

I got this from the offical cod4 forums:
btw SNIPER, it's ".50 cal" not "50.cal" I think a 50 cal bullet would be like 5 feet long :pCoD4 Patch 1.6 coming

According to IW Director of Communications (Community Relations manager), Rob Bowling (aka fourzerotwo), are now looking at issuing a new PC patch.
Patches? We don't need no stinkin' patches. (The Treasure of the Sierra Madre...anyone? Anyone?).
Well, for those of you that do need them, you will recall back in early March fourzerotwo had this to say about the next PC patch:
As for the PC version, Patch 1.6 will be the one that introduces the new Kill Cams and other features the console feature patches received for you guys. The work is done on that patch and it’s essentially awaiting and going through internal QA here at Infinity Ward and then Activision. The good thing about the PC version is it doesn’t require any certification so as soon as it’s finished internal QA it heads out the door to the players. I will try to get a full list of what PC Patch 1.6 includes as I believe there are a few more PC specific things in there besides just the added Kill Cams and such.
For CoD4 players, new Kill Cams are probably not on the top of their wish list for 1.6 patch fixes. Here in fact is such a list from the community as listed by InfinityWard forum goer diskord:
1. Server browser > Length of server names. This is a def issue. I just saw my own server and only HALF of the name is there.
2. Server browser > I do understand that a lot of servers are still not updated BUT, CoD4 has some sort of built in filters that we don't see. it causes the game to return a lot less servers on the screen then actually exist. You guys had it right with MOHAA and CoD1. I don't care how long it takes, I just want to see more servers.
3. Server browser > Filters. We need a little more. I don't expect filters like in ASE or QTracker but we do need a few (like Hardcore, oldschool, only modded etc etc)
4. Aesthetics > portion of the community here has been requesting colored names to be displayed in game. I don't really care for it, but its not much.
5. Gameplay > Some members have recorded videos in regards to the gun sway issue. (ex gun shoots dead center but gun sways in IR) I personally don't have an issue, but it should be looked into or adjusted.
6. Gameplay > Some members showed concerns in sniping still being off. Majority of the competitive community disagrees but again, it would be nice to see that IW has looked into the issue.
7. Custom Maps > There are still issues with .iwd map files. If placed in map folder they still cause random crashes. If they are placed in the mod folder, they can cause long d/l times for server that do not redirect their mod folder. Also, servers with a LOT of customs maps have a long list of .iwd files (some of up to 8-10megs) to be downloaded all at once. That's def an issue. If IW did address the issue and feels that the issue has been solved, please post the correct way to run custom maps/modded servers.
8. Spawn locations > I understand that these maps weren't meant for 32 or bigger servers. Still, even in a 24 man servers, spawns are a little off. Lots of spawning one of top of another leading to spawn killing/camping and the likes. Mods provide spawn protection, but it should also be available in ranked server who wish to run a large TDM/FFA/SAB/DOM servers.
9. Gameplay > The damage values for the AK47+red dot are off.
10. CoDTV > This is a MUST for competition. There was word of GarretJax working on this but no one has heard of an update. I believe IW should take over and make it perfect (this game has the potential to beat CS off the face of the planet) The comp. community would Love this.
11. SLI optimizing, currently cuts 45-50% of your frame rate if ENABLED in nvidia control panel. Its confirmed its a game issue and not a driver issue by nvidia them self. (Supposedly this only happens with series 7 cards) Def issue. (possibly an issue with 8 series cards as well)
12. Gameplay > Head hit box is STILL abit off when leaning. (personally I think its fine, but community speaks!)
13. More competitive minded maps.
14. no experience points if map changes by voting or same map is played again? i just had this issue, but another player said, he got xp. problem of server lag? Submitted by codemanx
15. Demo Playback > should be easier. ATM it needs to be launched from the modernwarfare mod (apparently it doesn't work for some people)
16. Demo Playback > quitting demo ESC key would make it easier.
17. Game Interface > minor spelling fix: "Lanuch" instead of "Launch"
18. Gameplay > if to many players stand close to each other (very close), nobody of them receives damage, the engine can't decide it. shouldn't happen in normal gameplay, but it's possible (eg. testclients). (I've seen this sometimes. Nade explodes around 5 people but doesnt kill everyone. Very rare)
19. air strike cursor (and scoreboard) not recorder - video proof: http://tinyurl.com/38uc8x (4 MB)
not sync at the end but doesn't matter. resolution: 1280x480, container: avi, codec: xvid (use VLC if you can't see the video)
20. General > Support for longer player names.
21. Gameplay > Autobalance needs some loving.
22. gameplay > round/score limit bugs if more then 10 rounds are in the config.
23. General > Would like it more like cod2 where you can enable map voting but disable player kicks. Our biggest problem on our servers is that we like the ability to let players vote to change maps but then have to deal with players kick voting.
24. General > larger maps. Some members of the community feel the current stock maps are too small esp in servers over 24 slots.
25. Gameplay Eliminate gun sway when sniper rifle can be rested on a wall or when sniper is prone. Reduce gun sway when sniper is crouched.
As for an update, here's Bowling's blog post on where IW is (or isn't) with 1.6:
The past few weeks have been busy behind the scenes, regretfully not very busy news wise, but I thought I’d give you guys an update on what’s happening behind the scenes in the meantime.
PC Patch 1.6
Last update I let you know we had to send it back to development due to a few bugs which we’re found. Regretfully not much has changed, but the team is still working on it with plans to get it out, when I get a better ETA on when you can expect it I’ll be sure to pass it along as well as details on what all it will include.
New Infinityward.com In The Works:
Right now we’re working on a new design for the InfinityWard.com site that will help us make it the more OFFICIAL one-stop news and community source for fans of our games. It will essentially take the place of Charlieoscardelta.com, and replace the old Infinityward.com and give us a dedicated dev blog where I can post a lot of the stuff I typically only post here. I’ll still post it all here as well as well as more non-game related things, but it will also be there too for those who aren’t familiar with this blog.
We’re also working on an updated dedicated forum software for it to replace our current set up, user profiles, and other new features. We’re aiming to have that launched by mid-June if all goes well.
For those of you expecting a PC map pack, similar to the one PS3 and Xbox 360 players got on the 24th of April...I would not hold my breath. Looks like the community mapping contest will be the only treat PC players will get.
