    can someone tell me why one should take the bolt action over semi-auto rifles?

      i believe they do more damage to certain areas of the body, i think the bolts still have like 1.3x on the torso. dont quote me on it.

      also iirc from the tables m40 with acog does 5 extra damage, only sniper i think to do so.

        They have higher damage and sounds/looks much cooler.

        They feel more accurate to me as well.

          They are just... better :)

          I also feel it forces you to aim a bit more than with a semi, where if you miss you're still in the scope ready for another shot.

            i think it's a lot harder to use, for example if i miss with my first shot on a semi auto rifle, i sometimes get them on the 2nd or 3rd shot, but with bolt action, the delay makes 2nd and 3rd shot kills less likely. if they indeed do more damage on torso, i guess that's one good point but i guess semi auto is more friendly to the casual sniper like me.
