usp < equal to most guns in close quarters

    clays < protect you
stopping power < 1 shot kill, not more people jacking you kills and getting assists
    iron lungs ,

while i would agree that deep impact is useful, in a sniper on sniper battle iron lungs is better because you fine your self having to wait just that little longer for him to pop out.

having uav jammer on sniper is a waste of perk because no matter what they will spot you if you fire your weapon. Because ther is no silencer on it so in my opinion its pretty crap. my kit is olway s

      barrett 50cal
claymore because it s olway s nice to know it has your back covered
stopping power for that extra damage
deep impact so noone can get cover :)

        My first kit:

        M40
        Claymores
        UAV Jammer
        Dead Silence

I have used this kit for ages. And it's good for sitting middle of enemy spawn.

        Second kit:

        M40/R700/.50 Cal
        Bandolier
        Stopping Power
        Deep Impact

This kit i use for "fast shooting". It's basically for 32+ players servers...

I have steady aim on my sniper rifles cause it makes it much more accurate when shooting unscoped. Great when you don't have time to pull out your pistol :)

Overkill with silenced P-90 or Deep Impact (for sweet "wall hack"-like shots)

Good luck with 2 tier 3 perks in one kit

I have two kits i mainly use:

              Kit; Dragunov:
              Gold Dragunov
              Skorpion w/ Red Dot
              Claymore x2
              Overkill
              Deep Impact

              Kit; MacMillan:
              M21 Red Tiger
              MP5 Silenced
              Claymore x2
              Overkill
              Deep Impact

I made those perks a standard on those two kits. I still sometimes use a M40A3 but my M21 just seems better. Steady Aim isn't useful on a sniper because i've seen the crosshair in softcore with a Steady Aim'ed sniper. I prefer my Overkill weapon anytime over Steady Aim.

M107 is known as the .50cal or Barret around here.

                      In regular softcore:

Sniper Rifle of choice (currently R700)
Silenced SMG of choice (currently AK-74)
                      Bandoleer
                      OverKill
                      Extreme Conditioning

This leaves me flexible and still able to deliver hurt an long and short range.

                      HC is another story.

                      Sniper Rifle of Choice
                      Silenced USP
                      Claymores
                      UAV Jammer
                      Dead Silence

I never play on servers larger then 20 people (usually 10-20) so stealth is a big deal. I'd rather have the SMG as a backup in normal and and the added stealth in HC.

This is from a decidedly non-sniper player. I usually only snipe when I want to chill out solo and unwind. Most of the time, I'm an AK wielding pscho on TS with my friends.

So would you all say that your kits change a bit when you are playing softcore vs hardcore?

It seems for most, people with HC goes with perks that add power and stealth. For SC, people lean toward backup plans like overkill and extra ammo or claymores.

Well, the only thing I change between SC and HC is perk 2.

HC it will vary from Sleight of Hand and UAV Jammer.
SC it is always stopping power to keep the 1 hit kill.
