    Sniper kit layout

I see a lot of people sniping and they all have something different. What is your preference in layout and why?

Right now I have the sniper rifle, R700 at the moment and this:

    claymores (cover your back)
    Overkill (with silenced 74U)
    Dead Silence

This layout does alright, but when UAV comes up, I become the hunted. Its fun because I know they are coming when the UAV comment is played and I am usually ready. BUT, is UAV jammer and giving up the machine gun better?

I like having the gun because then I have a more balanced fighting kit.

    Im thinking of going:
    Claymores
    UAV jammer
    Dead Silence or iron lungs

    Anyway, whats yours and why?

I don't use UAV jammer anymore - too much friendly activity near me to have it be useful.

    M40
    Gold Deagle

    Bandolier
    Sleight of Hand
    Steady Aim/Iron Lungs

    ::Edit::

I use Sleight of hand for popping off a quick set of rounds, and I use steady aim when playing TDM for those quick no-scope shots.

However, I found steady aim to be pretty useless because no scoping is extremely innacurate in CoD4,

There's not much use in perk 2 for a sniper other than sleight of hand and UAV Jammer. Using overkill gives you a delay between switching weapons (takes longer to pull out an SMG or AR than a pistol) so I really don't find much use for it.

**Steady Aim** (Wrong perk before, sorry) only works when you're out of scope though (firing from the hip).

I can understand why you'd still use it, but I wasn't sure if you were clear on it due to your description.

            Wait, what? Really?

            Right now I'm using:

            M21
            Claymores
            Stopping Power
            Steady aim (invaluable for me)

Dragunov (Why do people keep hatin' this weapon? I have Red Tiger for this weapon so it obviously works.)
              Claymore x2
Overkill with silenced P-90 or Deep Impact (for sweet "wall hack"-like shots)
              Iron Lungs or Extreme Conditioning

I haven't really used Dead Silence yet so I can't tell how effective it is. I use the Claymores to cover any hallways/doors/bottlenecks to my position, use the silenced P-90 to keep myself hidden from radar when attacking at close range, and the Iron Lungs for extended accuracy or Extreme Conditioning to get from position to position faster (or flee like a little girl whenever I am overrun).

Any Bolt-Action Sniper Rifle or Barret .50
                Deagle
                Claymores
                Stopping Power
                Iron Lungs or Dead Silence

I find that Stopping Power doesn't seem to affect the M21, and possibly Dragunov.

I think he means Steady Aim, because SP does do extra damage.

I think Iquere ment Iron Lungs, which allows you to hold your breath for over 8 seconds.

Steady Aim only affects the Sniper Rifle when firing from the Hip. Makes a decent panic weapon, like the Pistol.

Stopping Power should work whether you're firing from the Hip or if you're scoped.

                        Harcore S&D:

                        Dragunov
                        G36c w/ RDS
                        Smoke
                        Clays
                        Overkill
                        Iron Lungs

I find this kit to be very dominant in HC S&D. Just snipe until the bomb is planted, then defend/defuse with the G36c.

                          iron lungs
                          stopping power

i have other layouts with the semi-sniper but i usually use this, and run from cover to cover with the saw out :)

**Yeah sorry, I meant steady aim, not stopping power.
