    Now that sounds like fun!

I love to play the underdog side and fight my way out :ar15:

    "Take that you evil-doers!"

I don't understand why it is hard to follow the rules of the host? When you go over to someone's house and they offer a glass of water, do you demand that they supply you with your favorite beverage instead? It's a matter of respect and IMO, if you can't show some respect in a game, you're probably struggling with it in RL also.

Learn to control yourself and you'll find a lot more contentment in life...

If the only thing you're relying on to kill the walker are motion mines, something's wrong. I'm a terrible walker pilot, but, by themselves, I have little trouble avoiding/surviving motion mines. You need active engi's to take them. Or, a couple recons.
If your engis are dropping motion mines, then leaving the CP/silo........they're not doing the full job of defense.
This is Gibraltar we are talking about... No Silos, No Tanks.

Even if the asset could be used to "drive 3 team members deeper into the battlefield", what does waiting 30 seconds do?
      rem [ObjectSpawnerTemplate: CPNAME_RC_32_PAC_Base_PAC_EU_Jeep]
      ObjectTemplate.create ObjectSpawner CPNAME_RC_32_PAC_Base_PAC_EU_Jeep
      ObjectTemplate.activeSafe ObjectSpawner CPNAME_RC_32_PAC_Base_PAC_EU_Jeep
      ObjectTemplate.isNotSaveable 1
      ObjectTemplate.hasMobilePhysics 0
      ObjectTemplate.setObjectTemplate 1 AS_FAV
      ObjectTemplate.maxSpawnDelay 30
Thats all it takes man, 30 seconds. If you can't bear to wait a measly half minute to get into enemy territory, you obviously aren't the man I want infiltrating.

Now onto the topic of walker hunting. We have several things that can kill them.
1: Rorsch. Counter: Shoot at front plate, guy inside dies in a few seconds.
2: Recon with RDX. Counter: UAV/IDS/Switch to other camera views/someone spotting him out
      3: Friendly Walker. Counter: n00bs.
4: Stock AV Weapons. Counter: Walker Shields, cause they set off an alarm.
      5: Pilum. Counter: UAV/IDS etc.
6: RDX on the ground. Counter: Defuser, go around.
7: Motion Mines. Counter: MMB, Defuser, Go around.
8: EMP+Orbital. Counter: Alternate Camera Views. You see the EMP coming several seconds in advance, plenty of time to move.

MY preferred method of walker hunting is Motion Mines + Pilum, or being in a friendly walker. As a walker whore, I have gone several rounds 40/0 by playing Engi with MMB. Sometimes I take commander too, so I can just drop myself supply crates (I try not to do that though, only if nobody else is willing to command). When I am "in the zone" with my walker, it takes a good Jihad to bring me to my knees.

Uuumm..I hope you're not impling that an FAV spawns every 30 seconds. That's definitly not the case. Gib or not, it's a pain to run to an FAV just to watch the driver place some RDX on the front.
For me, I'll still jump in. Then if he rams a walker or tank, I'll always punish for TK.
Sorry....but I'd rather be a back up in the FAV. Much better use.

Then I have nothing but respect or you.
But I also will say that the other team sucks.
        Walkers are decisive assets.
Without teamwork, enemy walkers will trample the battlefield.
With teamwork, walkers can be stopped in minutes.

Not only am I implying, I posted the code that CLEARLY states the FAV Respawn time is 30 seconds Check it out for yourself!
          Code:

Please, so you got your butt handed to you in a sling in the other thread you started to slam my clan, it got locked, and now you want to do it here. The discussion was about limiting the use of vehicles, as in not allowing you to get into a walker, tank, fav, etc... The discussion was not about what you can and can't do in a vehicle. Please knock it off before you make yourself look even more foolish.

Your clan is fine. I think you guys are pretty respectable players overall and if i talked with you on vent you'd probly be pretty cool. But i was mainly just pointing out how you were calling one of your own servers weak.

Then you will be where "all the action is." The whole rule against base raping is because from time to time the teams get unbalanced skill wise, and if you have a team going down into the uncap raping the crap out of the other team, the server empties out and dies. Those of us that run servers generally want them full, so we implement rules we feel will keep them that way. In a clan match or TWL match, those don't apply because you usually have enough teamwork that one side doesn't get bottled up like that. However, in a public server you often do not have the kind of squad/team coordination necessary to break out of the uncap.

Nice.... I suppose I should just save my admins the time and add your GUID to my server ban lists. With that attitude you wouldn't last long there anyway.
I some how managed to miss this response, so I'm gonna revive this almost 20 day old thread and respond, so feel free to ignore if you dislike OFD "Old F*cking Drama".

I don't mean to sound like a d*ck, in my earlier post, because I'm not "well at least I don't think so, but then again real d*cks don't think their being d*cks either, but I digress...." I'm also certainly don't think that I'm gods gift to BF2142. I'm passable at best, no delusions here.

If I've been waiting 10 mins on Camp G for a team to break out of their uncap, and they haven't even made an effort, just sitting back and sniping, I'm going in to get them. I could change teams, and often have if I feel like their making an effort and I might be able to make a difference "probably the reason my win/loss in still under 2" but I often find when I switch that the team has so little in the way of talent/teamwork that it's hopeless. I switched yesterday to a team that was trapped in their uncap on the AOD 24/7 Tunis/Camp server. I joined alpha squad, because I had killed a few of the squad members near the harbor flag. Turns out that's because the Alpha squad leader had placed the beacon in a really campable spot. The squad members were yelling at him to just take up the beacon, and push forward so we could spawn on him. No good, he just moved the beacon. I told everyone in the squad that I was leaving to form a squad that would push thru, but only one of them joined me. Together we got only one good push back on ruins "but never managed to take it" before the game ended.

That's pretty typical. If a team is trapped in it's uncap, it's usually because they are unorganized, and giving them space isn't really going to help, it's only going to take the map longer to get over with.

As for my statement about not following server rules, there again, I seldom get kicked from servers for "actually" breaking their rules, because like I said before, I'm not a d*ck about my rule breaking. I don't camp the uncap unless that's where the enemy is. Otherwise I steal the occasional vehicle and leave. I don't break the rules just to be annoying, I do it in the normal course of playing the game. No bunny hopping, no RDX jeeping, no base raping, no stealing vehicles, no beacon camping.... Sorry, if you're shooting at me, I'm dodging, if you're dominating my team in a walker, I'm killing it any way I can, if you won't come out of your uncap I'm coming in to get you, if I'm in your uncap and a vehicle spawns, I'm going to take it and if you're stupid enough to keep spawning on a beacon, in a ticket based game, even tho I'm right beside it, I'm gonna camp it, rules be damned. (longest run on sentence evar)

Just as I feel you have no right to tell me how to play, I feel that I have no right to ***** if you kick me for breaking your rules, as long as I'm actually breaking them "unless it's for bunny hopping then you're just lame" so ya, ban me if you feel like you must. Just know that if you don't, and I join, their is a strong likely hood that in the course of game play you might run into me in your uncap, see me hopping around trying not to die, and maybe even standing on the ground by your beacon as your pod breaks open with a shotty. Not because I'm trying to be an ***, but because I just wanna play the game.

                    Server rules are stupid.

Our server's moto is No Rules, Play Like A Man.

Yes. When I jump into the second or third seat of an FAV, I expect to go somewhere.
When I'm spammed "Get out" or "Bail out" cause someone placed RDX on the front, I figure "Screw them, I'm in. Let's go somewhere."
So when they do drive off somewhere to Jihad something, I'm happy to TK punish them for blowing me up.
Why Jihad it? (PS....actual Jihad-ists, in real life, are weak idiots. They have no capability to fight face to face.) Why not fight it?

So you don't deny thats its a legit tactic do you? Maybe one that you don't enjoy, but you can't deny that it is not a "waste of team assets" can you?

Well, my last statement was ... "Why Jihad it? Why not fight it?"
Meaning...if the only way you can bring something down is by Jihad, there's a certain amount of weakness on your team's part.

Exactly, that + a strong enemy sometimes makes it necessary to jihad their walker. Especially when it killed me several times in a row.
You see, there's not much use in being an engineer on CG PAC when the EU has a strong walker pilot cleansing the front of harbor. The engineer kit is not good enough to fight yourself through a good defense. RDX and a Jeep however are just good enough to speed through it and bomb the walker.
And if there's some ***** thinking he needs to keep sitting in the FAV and be killed, than so be it. Not my problem. I probably survive the jihad anyway and may get one or two more kills with the SMG. :p
But you are from the US, so I acknowledge your negative sentiments towards Jihad.

The only time i believe a Jihad is justified is in the case of a elite walker pilot pwning in Camp gib, when your commander doesnt know the EMP-orbital "trick", or the pilot is smart enough to stay on the move, enemy infantry is swarming into the acces points to the harbor there may be no other way.

At other times and against other vehicles i think it's a weak practice, since the dodgy hit detection makes is nearly impossible to defend yourself against it.
