if you want strange rules than how about this:
      *No VOSS
      *No Vehicles
      *No fighting Commander
      *TITAN maps only

What's wrong with Titan maps only? Don't they have heaps of Titan servers running, and isn't that just one of their rules?

No fighting commander makes sense if there are heaps of people on the teams, as you can sometimes get distracted from commanding. But the other two are just stupid.

No vehicles on a Titan map makes for a long boring game IMO.

Anytime I see these artificial barriers to free play I first think, "Scrubtastic!"...

Scrubs have to have things their way only and cry and whine and beotch when people want to play a different way. They know nothing about confronting adversity, but want a game to be controlled so they have an advantage.

It's the best time to go in and pwn their sorry carcasses using their lame rules! Then, make a note never to populate their lame server ever again and move on to game with some real men.

Presumably you're ok with base raping, kamikaze, jihad jeep etc then?

funnily enough, no vehicles titan sounds awesome. reason i don't play titan is due to the endless inexplicable deaths from vehicles... and you can pod from titan to titan so vehicles are in fact irrelevant

so you are just gonna walk from silo to silo? What if you are on the ground? You gonna jump up to the titan? There is more to titan than just assaulting or defending. The whole ground battle prior to the shields going down is key to winning and it involves vehicle battles. There are so many ways to counter vehicles i don't understand why people avoid them. So yes vehicles are very relevant to titan mode.

I was wondering if I was the only sane person.

Presumably you're ok with base raping, kamikaze, jihad jeep etc then?
In a way, I am very comfortable with those things. Why? It's part of the game. If 'base raping' wasn't an allowable action within a particular game, you would not be able to do it.

We are talking about a virtual battlefield; not real life. It is an arena for game play. There are games which protect spawn locations and team equipment. Battlefield series games do not do that.

Thus, unless you've come to an agreement which all players abide by, whatever the game allows is 'fair game' in my books. I'm not declaring anarchy here because I abide by local rules because I believe in respecting the host.

As annoying as it is to be jihad-jeeped, you've got to admit it is an effective strategy if you're being honest. It's somehow "lame, cheap, n00b" or whatever.

Speaking from the perspective of an ex soldier, those very things are what change the course of battles. It that unconventional thinking which brings death to the enemy and keeps your men alive to fight.

I believe in Freedom. Even when I'm inconvenienced by said Freedom.

No offense Skates, I love your clan and your server, but you have some of the most limiting rules out there Not saying that its a bad thing, and I won't deny that it helped your server get really good ranking, but it is very limited. Destroying Commander Assets in the PAC uncap is a nightmare, cause as soon as you rush in there 5 people see you and start shooting. You drop two of them, then get kicked for baseraping :p Claiming that Jihading is a waste of assets is a lame rule too. Seeing as the EU gets TWO FAVs with one respawning every 30 seconds, I think that the soldiers waiting for a Jeep can wait an extra 90 seconds to get a car, plus the enemy will be one walker down. Ticket Loss from 90 seconds is probably between 5-10 tickets, while a walker can potentially take away 50 + any chance of capping the harbor.

Once again, don't get me wrong. I enjoy playing on your server, and I do my best to follow all the rules... However your statement seemed a little hypocritical :p

yes, walk from silo to silo. caps silos if you are on the ground. no, you can't jump to the titan, just so you know. there is more to titan than just assaulting and defending, there is walking from silo to silo, capping them in the process. i am well aware of how to counter vehicles, i am unaware of how to stop dying as i spawn from some unseen vehicle threat, friend or foe. vehicles are relevant to titan mode if you use them, obviously. they are not essential, you must see that.

Eh, whatever. We allow use of all vehicles and weapons on our servers so I don't see why you call it hypocritical of me to say what I said. You know I am talking about IO servers, K&P servers, sniper servers, etc... We do not put limits on the use of any vehicles or weapons. You can get in that FAV and drive around, run over people, and gun them down. We just don't allow rdx ramming with it. You can fly the transports around and do everything with them except going kamikaze into a vehicle. You can come down into the uncap as a Recon to destroy assets, and yes, kill someone on the way in. The problem is when one of my admins is in the uncap and gets killed by an assault or support gun, it's hard to believe that guys was on his way to take out the assets. For those that feel we are too restrictive there are other servers where anything goes they can play.

We run those servers for the general public and as such you have to establish certain rules to keep the server full, like no base raping as that will empty out half the server quickly. Now, should the PAC be able to fight out of the uncap? Absolutely! The problem is that with the average players, there is not enough coordination to fight their way out. Now, if you want all out, no rules on uncap rape or jihading or any of that stuff, everything goes in the TWL matches and in friendly scrims against other clans. We'll meet soon enough.

That we shall. Wanna do a friendly 8v8 NS Scrim? Thats my clan's newest interest, we have been playing NS like there is no tomorrow :p Anyway, if you do PM me and we can get it coordinated between our clans.

PS: I understand why you don't allow base raping, thats a good rule... However having your admins stand in the middle of the uncap in plain sight of the harbor just so they can see if someone will shoot them so they can bring out the ban hammer seems excessive.

As for Jihading... Thats the one I don't see why it isn't allowed. You are utilizing a team asset for the purpose of taking down an enemy walker. If you want to know something that drives people off of servers, its good walker pilots. They can stay alive for a LONG time if they are coordinating with the commander, and if they pack Motion Mine bait they are near impossible to kill. All it takes is one Recon to pack some RDX onto a FAV and then take the thing out... Viola, problem solved. I dunno about you, but the value of a FAV is ALOT less than the value of the enemy walker.

But that asset could be used to drive 3 team members deeper into the battlefield or enemy territory. Let your walkers/tanks take out the enemy walker.

If the only thing you're relying on to kill the walker are motion mines, something's wrong. I'm a terrible walker pilot, but, by themselves, I have little trouble avoiding/surviving motion mines. You need active engi's to take them. Or, a couple recons.
If your engis are dropping motion mines, then leaving the CP/silo........they're not doing the full job of defense.

The no bunny hopping rule is the one that gripes my rear worse than any other. I don't care what your server rules are, I am not going to stand there and let you kill me. I will do any and everything I can to make sure you die and I live. If that means hopping around like I have a pogo stick up my ***, then so be it.

Also I can't stand the no base rape rules. I want to be where the enemy is. If they suck to bad to make it out of their uncap, that's not my problem. When the enemy is staying in their uncap, I'm going in to get them. If they would break out, and take a flag, that's where I'll go, because it's more likely that the enemy will be there. The best way to prevent getting raped in your uncap, is to take other flags and spawn there, so you're not in your uncap when you get raped :) .

Other than that, I basically just completely ignore the server rules. If they're too restrictive, I'll get banned and I won't have to worry about accidentally joining the server again. Win/Win IMHO.

As Desmond already said, you need more than that. One thing we try to promote is good squad/team play on our servers. I haven't seen the walker driver yet, that lasts long against a squad that is trying to take him down. 1-2 guys as support with EMP nades combined with either a recon w/ rdx, engi w/ pilum, or commander orbital and the walker is done. That is what this game is about, not some lone wolf recon with rdx strapped to his buggy.

Since you are obviously such the great player, next time why don't you switch to the side that is getting raped, they always have a few leave so there should be room, and fight your way out? Then you will be where "all the action is." The whole rule against base raping is because from time to time the teams get unbalanced skill wise, and if you have a team going down into the uncap raping the crap out of the other team, the server empties out and dies. Those of us that run servers generally want them full, so we implement rules we feel will keep them that way. In a clan match or TWL match, those don't apply because you usually have enough teamwork that one side doesn't get bottled up like that. However, in a public server you often do not have the kind of squad/team coordination necessary to break out of the uncap.

Nice.... I suppose I should just save my admins the time and add your GUID to my server ban lists. With that attitude you wouldn't last long there anyway.
