You have 800 hours in the game, 600 as infantry. 13ยด000 kills as sniper, 2000 with claymores, probably just as much with grenades. Its safe to say that you got to 100 hours of sniping, and broke the 2:1 KDR thanks to the extra tools and most of all, previous gameplay experience. Not to discredit you, but you really are just proving my point.

As I said- refined and specialized skill that needs experience and skill to become good at. People pick snipers kit always when they are new to the game, expecting it to WTFpwn all. Snipers course in the military is taken after basic training. As a sniper, youre exploiting infantry tactics and mindset. In BF2, it works just the same, you get accustomed to how the gears spin, you get to know the game, you become good at it, then you specialize yourself.

I love the fact that most snipers climb high stuff in Bf2 I think i went 25 - 0 on a Jalalabad server, while just sitting in a bush, picking off ppl on rooftops.

Sniper is a hard kit to play with, for starters you have no close range advantage if you come into CQC. And if you dont kill your target first shot then they automatically make it hard for you by jumping around and zig zagging. So unless you can get headshot kills everytime sniper is a hard kit, so dont worry my friend your perfectly normal

Why don't you try using the rifle and use the co-op MP setting loads of bad guys and you just snipe them. I did and you can learn from the bullet drop and how to attack with a knife or pistol. Now I just run the AI over makes a change

I am no expert as a Sniper but I have played a fair bit as one and would say I can at least get by. You want some good kills go for non vehicle servers with large teams of players with fairly similar skill sets. Time and practice will give you a list of servers that are like.

You then need to find a nice spot well away from the action, most of the other players will get so wrapped up in the close quarters action that you can happily pick them off without being noticed from a good distance away. I got 18 in a row from the ground in Karkland by being prone at the croner of one building and then picking off bad guys coming down from the Suburbs trying to capture the Square flag.

Clays are good as well, use wisely. Find a sniping point with only one or two entry points and lay clays there. When you here one go off shift position because guaranteed that persons gonna come back to find out why you clayed that position.

Finally close quarter combat is often mentioned as a Sniper's weakness. That's not quite right, at very close range, a range that alot of inexperience players will close to to guarantee they will hit you, you actually have as much of a chance of scoring a kill as someone with a machine gun. The key is to switch to the knife and run at them, keeping moving and stabbing. Think about it, 2 hits with a knife at close range will kill most opponents yet a machine gun could require 3 times as much as that to get a kill.

speaking of clays, I often see enemies jump over my claymores, I face them towards them and they just run at me and jump over it without dying, whats the deal with this?

do they take some time to activate or w\e or whats going on?

Same with AT mines so charging against both works well. BTW the m95+pistol strategy does work really well in certain situations. Some may call it noobish (they are idiots), but it is good a for sure kill, rather than risking the enemy getting away from a missed headshot. The pistol is a sniper's best friend at all but extreme range, as it can effectively hit targets for up to 300m. It is also very good at CQB if you have a fast trigger finger.
