    Similarities in style to TF2?

    Is it just me, or are the pictures I've seen so far quite similar to the style of Team Fortress 2?

    edit: by style I mean "graphics," not gameplay in general since you can't really tell that from a pic or two.

    i'm guessing its just graphics, i never played TF but i think it doesnt have vehicles and very large maps, a game might be very similar to another, but when u throw in tanks and planes the whole gaming experience changes :)

      Based on the information available, the only thing they seem to have in common is being cell-shaded shooters. And that is not something TF2 invented.
      Similarities:
      * Graphics resembling Team Fortress 2, cartoon style YES
      * Matchmaking system, which will allow players to meet opponents of equal skill-level. NO
      * Character customization NO
      * Both First-person and Third-person shooter perspectives, depending on the situation. NO
      * Three class structure: Commando, Soldier, and Gunner NO
      * Free to compete NO
      * Levels can get as high as 50+ NO
      * Each character has 15 customizable parts, ranging from head to gloves and boots NO
      * Experience points will be awarded for doing well that can be used on character upgrades NO (not yet anyway, the TF2 upgrade may change that)
      * Achievement system is now Mission system allowing the played to decide what to do NO

          EA obviously saw the opportunity and they are taking it, as Vreki said there are quite a few things that are different. I think EA noticed that gamers quite liked the look and style of TF2 and incorporated it a little into BF:H. We can't really be sure until more information on Battlefield Heroes is released.

            Well they are both cartoon representations of a stereotypical American hero wearing a WWII style uniform.

            Is COD4 a copy of BF2? The soldiers look much alike

              They have more differences than similarities.

                  We shall see, knowing that this is a free game, I am speculating a lot of servers for the mass number of people who will want to play the game. Hopefully we can find a good Internode server or a Singapore based server. :)

                        The argument that BFH looks a lot like TF2 is just as rubbish.

                          It is called an analogy, so far we have seen less similarities between Battlefield Heroes and TF2 than can be found between BF2 and COD4.

                          Hmm, so much talk about TF2, I feel a strong urge to play it again.:)

                            I understand and I'm not trying to put either down or create a big argument.

                            I just noticed they both had a similar cell-shaded design, which I can't recall seeing recently anywhere else than TF2.

                            I was ONLY comparing design, NOT gameplay.

                            :)

                              Most cell-shaded games seems to be for the consoles, but I know XIII was out for the PC too.
                              Its not unlikely that DICE got the cell shading idea from TF2, but I think most games draw inspiration from their predecessors.

                              Wiki has a long list of cell-shaded games: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...ed_video_games
