the marines atleast have much ebtter camo, the opfor almost always appear as black silhouettes making it easy as hell to pick them out. the marines actually blend in somewhat.

That is a pretty big exaggeration/misconception. It's not even close to "every server". The majority of servers have balanced teams for most of the fight, but can sometimes tilt one way or the other near the start or end of the map. I haven't noticed teams always tilting toward Marines/SAS.

Like most people here, I also auto-assign...however, as someone speculated on, it is easier to stick with the same faction each time so that it's easier to get the correct mindset of which enemy to shoot. I used to do this back in the MOHAA/SH days, trying to stick with either Axis or Allies each map, unless I noticed the teams were unfair and I'd switch.

I think he may mean "buggy" instead of biased. Sometimes, it seems that auto-assign will not create even teams, but sometimes puts you on the team that is both ahead in score, and has more players. I don't see this a lot, but it does happen from time to time.

Say what you think but I know that every round on every GameArena server people will always, always join the "good guys" first. Personally it sickens me.

Just thought I'd like to add that one time when the Marines were stacked (of course), the autobalance message kept appearing but it wouldn't move anybody. It just kept trying and trying until the round ended.

Oh, I'm sure it happens, but even in your comment above, you're talking about GameArena servers. Maybe they attract that sort of clientele. I'd think that in parts of the world that aren't generally US/UK-friendly, some people probably stack the OpFor team instead (in Russia, I'd expect the Spetsnaz team to be popular).

I have no real fav servers, but instead bounce to whatever is showing a good ping, and decent number of players at the time. And I can tell you Marine/SAS stacking isn't everywhere, and although I haven't been specifically looking for it (I will now), I've never noticed it on the random servers I visit.

In BF1942 it was so damn common for me to play Japanese/German and see our team outnumbered 2:1. In COD2, I'd always Autoassign and it would NOT be an exaggeration to say I'd end up on Axis side 9 out of 10 times. If not for Autobalance, teams would always stay 14 against 8 or some crap, in favor of Allies of course. COD4 is no different, and any server that doesn't have Autobalance on just doesn't care about team imbalances.

Having said all that, whenever one side starts winning by a lot usually a bunch of players will start switching to that team, whether it's OPFOR or not.

If it's an SAS vs Spets map I press auto assign.

If it's United States Marine Corps vs rag heads. I got USMC. Semper Fi

It is the same with me. I usually choose SAS but don't care one way or the other.
The Arabic OpFor on the other hand, is a problem.
Whenever I play as them I have to fight the instinct that sees the marines as friends and the other side as "terrorists". It is a surprisingly strong instinct, I blame the media

                  HAHA lol:laugh:

Well, I just don't like shooting Marines. Not that I never do play OpFor (damn teamswitch) but it's a pain in the butt to find a Marine sitting on a hill with the awesome job IW did on their camo. So then I go Marines and I see a black camo rag head, and that solves the problem.

I always join Spetsnaz because when you say Roger you can hear yourseld say: ''PJANANA!''
Or as OpFor when you say Negative you can hear yourself say: ''ZEL B!''

I like spamming those two to lure enemies into my C4/Claymores

The next time somebody swears up and down that the media and videogames have absolutely no effect on people's behavior, and vise versa, I think I'll point them to this thread.

The reason I ask this, is because I was actually going to use that term. But I thought better of it because I really didnt know who I might offend.

o.0 Unless we have a good amount of terrorists patrolling these forums, then I don't think we have a problem.
