no love for opfor?

why is it that every round on every server marines and sas are oversubscribed ridiculously, i saw 9 opfor against 41 marines the other day (ok that is extreme then auto balance kicked in)

so why does everyone love the marines/sas to death? its not as if they always have the best starting position i mean on pipeline that favours spetznas way more at the beginning yet they always have less players...

Ok i auto assign my self nearly every round (the random placement thing) and am always dumped on opfor (nothing wrong with that, ak kit ftw), maybe people are just lazy and click the first menu option but i think its a bit ridiculous how off the numbers are.

I auto assign every time... I really don't care where i spawn(opfor or others)... Since i still play mostly sniper, if i spawn as opfor in pipeline(for example) i can take down atleast few SAS dudes from the first waves..

But i guess it's the audio thing... They sound better etc... Dunno

I dont really care what side im on, you get the same weapon selection whatever side your on.

I think auto-assign is a little biassed from time to time.

I always press auto-assign no matter what, and I didn't realize that each army has a set spawn point on each map until a few days ago. I don't really care what side I'm on.

btw, what does OpFor stand for? Did I miss something in the campaign?

Opposing Forces** - You only missed the 's' .

Although google defines it as you say it, its normally used with an 's', yesh!

Technically it can be Force too... Unless you are fighting 2 armies..

I always go SAS or OpFor on pub servers. I just feel more comfortable with those and just awkwardly enough, shooting the opposite team...

Hmm... I wonder if that would be beneficial, always going to one team so you don't have to constantly recalibrate you brain between "shoot the terrorists" and "shoot the marines".

I just go auto assign, if I realize that the group of people is doing that massive stacking on either team, I will select he other team straight away. I tend to choose Opfor anyways, makes me feel like a real terrorist running around with an AK and an RPG

I myself always go OpFor or Spetsnaz. Not because I like to be the "bad guy".. in fact I don't consider these any more evil or terrorism motivated then the other guys, but I do consider them much cooler in looks/shouts.

FF-off helps, but there has been few occasions where that hasn't been the case..

I had a blast few days ago, playing as OpFor in the Showdown and running around with AK and RPG..

Only thing i missed was C4 tied to my chest.. :laugh:
