No and Yes.
As a console player, I have seen my own playing drastically reduced within the past week. I havent touched the game for 3 days, and I havent had school or work all those days. Judging by my own experiences, the game is dying, and will not last long. I guess console players like the fantasy based FPS' (GoW, Halo) rather than realistic ones.
As for the PC players, I am sure it wont die. Custom maps always make things interesting, and all console players can hope for is an map expansion pack to be released, much like how Halo 2 had one.
Ranks...I am a mixed bag about. Perfectionist console players like me want to max out all 10 prestige ranks. And by doing this, we never have time to stop and obtain all our camos and what-have-ya. For PC players, it must be nice, but the apex is easily obtainable due to no prestige. Personally, I have to draw the line somewhere and actually start enjoying the game, rather than 'grinding' it out for experience.
