I attack choppers in missile mode, and Im not a bad pilot. Considering how well great chopper pilots react and countermaneuver, missiles are a very good way to take them out.Comment

There is, like crashing into the chopper, because you were going the whole way with the cannons.
Its amusing, that you think you can shoot down a chopper with cannons only, if the pilot knows youre present.Comment

Stop playing with newbies then. Ive played against skilled chopper pilots, and the only way youll get them, is a 1 long 100% connecting burst through the cockpit glass. A good chopper pilot will anticipate adversaries in the air, and will act accoordingly. But if you dont mind taking 3+ passes to taking them down then, sure...Originally posted by waaah_wahNever had problems with downing chopters with cannon only and im not even that good in jets. From my experience both when im in a chopter and in a jet, missiles down do a crap against chopters
Missiles lock on from 375 metres, need a second to lock on, and you can spam them with a high chance of connectivity. A little cannon rounds, and a missile finishes the deal.Comment

Shoot from range, and if you're lucky/accurate, one burst will take them out. Obviously wont work on anyone but an unsuspecting/exposed pilot but it's just gold to see people's reactions. Esp. when you get super lucky and snipe out pilot and gunner.Comment

If youre lucky AND they are newbies. A competent chopper pilot will react on the first whirl of bullets, and its not like a jets cannon rounds can be mistaken for something else. If it was that easy and simple, Cynic wouldnt have such a KDR in his scrim screenshots.Originally posted by camper.Shoot from range, and if you're lucky/accurate, one burst will take them out. Of course it'll be hard at times but if you set yourself up well, it's usually a guaranteed kill.and the only way youll get them, is a 1 long 100% connecting burst through the cockpit glass.
As for people using surround sound + x-fi combos, good luck, I guess.Comment

You dont understand. You need to hit them on the first run, and you need to connect a number of rounds for the kill. This is not a problem when youre not having a top gun in the chopper. But if you have, cannons alone wont cut it, unless you want to make multiple passes. Whatever you do, a Cobra is more nimble than the jet. Were talking about a 1 in a hundred chance of meeting that kind of a pilot, but theres a number of such able pilots in TBF2. Having a pretty heavy baggage of experience myself, its just how things are.Comment

I lolled... Do you have any idea how easy it is to avoid missiles in a chopter? I pretty much suck in chopters and i still have no problems with them. Flare and barrel roll and woohoops, missiles missedStop playing with newbies then. I dont think I need to repeat myself.
Barrel roll will only save you if the jet is passing you with full, maximum speed, and hes spamming missiles off or over the missile lock on zone. I get all my first pass chopper kills with a finishing missile touch. Its ridiculously easy to kill a chopper with missiles.Stop playing with newbies then.
You can barrel roll all you want, this will only make the flares fly to one side of the chopper. A mild correction and the flares are rendered useless. You need to either throw the flares off or into the course of the jet.Comment

So you are suggesting that we should slow down...?I dont think I need to repeat myself.
