Downing choppers is easy enough. Missiles are great if either they running away and you are on the six with good timing, or you set up a side shot and fire as they start to roll and can get them in the belly as they roll. Another trick is to keep the helo at the very bottom of your screen, as soon as the flares go off screen( almost immediately when the helo is at bottom of screen) you will lock back on the helo. But cannons is by far the easiest way to get the kill. Just anticipate the roll and lead the shots. I find it much easier to lead cannons vs helos compared to jets, but then again I usually have a crap ping.

I can attack either mode but if the helo pilot thinks they are leet and are barrel rollers then I opt for missile mode just because the buzzing annoys the piss out of them. And also when they hear it and start those stupid maneuvers they become in-effective against my team on the ground. I am no great pilot but I'm not to bad either and I have no problems running off types like cynic because I ruin their fun since they need to deal with my jet instead of trying to misuse the helo fighting chopper vs chopper.

I don't play against a bunch of noobs either. I don't pay much attention to names unless they are regs on the Oman server I frequent, but I know Gruvmunkey tells me frequently I am not allowed in a jet...lol
Solo'ers are easier to down simply because if ya know they are alone, you time it to fire on em as soon as they switch to the gunner seat, they are down with cannons before they can get back in the F1 seat.

My gripe is the most fun attack is to buzz right over top of the helo and drop the bombs into the helo's side, but for some stupid reason a bomb to the side of an airborne chopper leaves them with 1/2 health. it's still a hoot tho...lololol

Believe me when I say I stink in the choppa, even with a good pilot. However, I was on my fav server the other day with about 7 players and I TV'd a jet while I was soloing the cobra..... can I be leet now too?...lol

The absolute worst thing anyone can ever do in a jet is slowing down when trying to kill a chopper. You are such a target, you're just as alone as a big tank on an open map. Killing fullspeed jets is possible too, but slightly harder (unless you hit bombers from behind :/ ).

The only reason why slowing down in jets, while attacking choppers, is stupid, is because people attack choppers from a level angle. Nothing is more disorienting for a chopper pilot, than to align their chopper into the sky, some odd degree behind them.

Theres little you can do, good pilots will barrel roll into flares, but the flares will pop into one side only. Almost all maneuvers are cookiecut against level targets. Missile hits are guaranteed.

Not entirely true. With my current pc I have higher settings and can use faster speeds, but with my old rig I had to play all on low including geometry. With that I had to slow because at speed, by the time the 9800pro would draw the helo, I would already be passed it.

I used to have a 9800 pro and got like 20 fps on all low :p. Of course I get 100 fps on all high now, but at least I know both ends of the spectrum.
