Even if we disdain the different "aids", this part is not written in stone.
IMHO the game favours automatic weapons far to much.
To quote The_Eliminator:
Having to lead unreasonable ammounts favour the automatic weapon users, who will just "walk" their fire into the target. I see this very often in killcam.
Headshots are where the semis should excel, but like The_Eliminator says, it seems quite random to me. I have stood behind unaware enemy's and fired aimed shots at their head at nearly point blank range without getting a headshot.
Some may ask why I use the semis if they suck so much, and the answer is that I simply prefer the slow style of play with carefully aimed shots.
But COD has few situation for long range marksmanship, and many where the enemy just appears in front of you.
The default position of the community is "Don't change the game", but since we seem to get a lot of threads complaining about the possible max ROF of the semi-autos, here is what I would like to happen:
Either
A) Increase the recoil of the full autos, forcing their users to use burst-fire at range. If the autos rule at CQB, the Semis should rule at range.
B) Fix the ROF of the semis to the max allowable, and stop worrying about how it is achieved. I personally find it stupid that "how fast can you click" should be a factor when encountering an enemy.. To make it perfect they should make the semi-auto rifles selective fire or full auto. A lower ROF and higher recoil should be their disadvantage.
