BF if it was only for the tag registration. In CoD4 I have no urge to use the knife, unless it's for the challenge.

But with the knife, just walk up and chop chop chop chop chop 5 kill streak Without wasting ammo or causing the enemies around you to notice where you are. Also as a sniper in BF the knife is probably your lifesaver at many occasions.
If there are 5 enemies, I simply toss a grenade into them and chop the rest up with a few quick bursts.

      Danger rate = 0%

Theres absolutely NO necessity to using a knife in BF2, except for the "coolness" value. Every time you take out the knife in BF2, youre potentially endangering yourself.

In COD4, knife isnt just a true last resort weapon. Its quickly accessible, making it the perfect supplement to the primary arms.

This is a very true point.

I voted CoD4. Not because of skill, or lack there of, but because of the cool scenes when you do it. Squishy sounds and some blood sprays.

Yes, I dont like that it seems like your whipping out a light sabre at times and melting your enemy, but at least they die when you knife.

Tags were cool in 2142, but I dont miss them. It was better in BF2, but not cool looking like CoD.

Being a taghunter in 2142 Makes this one obvious what I chose anyway....

Dont like the knifing in cod4, isnt rewarding and doesnt take any skill either, Id rather just do a headshot in cod4 instead seeing as 95% of people seem to use the martyrdom perk.....

All of you who are complaining about CoD4 knifing being skilless are too used to poor hit detection. It's not that damn hard to swing a knife in real life, why should it be in game?

                Knifing, skill, wtf?

The real skill comes down to the weapons ffs, not a stupid piece of metal, the knife is last resort, and cod makes it last resort because you can't get it out and run about with it like a spazz. In a war you wouldn't run around with your knife out, and if by some freak accident you manage to get within knifing distance and stab them , no one will shout, SKILL!, they will shout, WTF ARE YOU DOING. Like i said before knife is last resort, not a main weapon, so I say CoD.

Because in real life, you have to pull out your knife, and usually get ready with it. Not this WHATA!! and sheathed in a second.

In BF2142, I would mostly use the Knife as a weapon to collect Dogtags only, rarely ever an emergency weapon. As fun as it was collecting Dogtags, I found that it detered the game too far from being fun at times.

In COD4, I use the knife not only for emergencies, but also for those opportunities where someone is just close enough for a quick kill. The swing animation is flawless, hit detection is near perfect, and you won't have to worry about pulling it out.

All in all, I prefer the COD4 knife.

Well i think for me BF 2142 i found it far more rewarding when you kill somone with the knife not because of the tagz but being able to teabag that sniper or hacker that has been anoying you it is alwas good to put some artificial bum fluff in someones face

Funniest thing ever said. The hit detection is horrible in CoD4. It is really kind of annoying and frustrating.

Easily COD4 for me. The knife is fast, easy to use, and very effective. It's fun to use.

I found BF2's knife did not have good hit detection at all.

You play it on a console. It's probably due to poor connection or low fps.

Actually, I have excellent connection. Its the aforementioned 10 foot strikes and, dont know if computer players get this, the ability of the knife to seem like it went into the opponent, but not killing them. They just glance off to the side, which results into a little dance between you and the enemy. I hate it.

But it does seem to happen more on games where the connection is intterupted constantly. I believe it is due to the hosts poor connection, which affects everybody.
