I have 68 running (Hmmm) Is there any possible way that i could endanger my security by posting whats running?

Reinstall BF2, check for an update for the BF2 - Vista x64 patch/update thingy or w/e it is. make sure you've got BF2.exe on the Windows firewall allow list. and then report back to me.

also maybe a BF2 file might be corrupt...so yeh definatley reinstall BF2, and try a new 1.41 patch, cus your one could be corrupt for MP

and no, posting what processes are running Wont endanger your security lol, but holy **** 68...thats alot, and i have 3gb and im running 32 processes. so you might need to config windows bootup to Not launch that much software, no wonder your experiencing slowness, your RAM is depleted lol

Run msconfig and shut down basically all of your startup software except antivirus/malware software. That should help boot time immensely. Uninstall BF2 completely, then reinstall and repatch.

Try looking at event viewer. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Event Viewer. There you will find some logs of system activity. The next time BF2 crashes, check the log and post what it says.

Its either RAM, or your graphics card ...with Vista, do a memory check, and update graphic drivers (NVidia? ...look at website for hotfixes for BF2). Its either one, or both of those areas.

hi all, just lettin u know that i fixed my CTD and bf2 memory error memory.dll: thread 3616 is deallocating main thread memory. The solution was to disable vista's superfetch service from adminstrative tools in control panel. If u got windows xp maybe try disabling prefetching. To run bf2 i run the program as administrator and in windows xp SP2 compatibilty mode. To do this right click bf2 short cut and go to properties and then the compatibility tab. I also got dual processor so i set affinty of the bf2.exe in task manager to just use CPU 0 (u need to run taskmgr as admin to do this). Anyway i hope this helps people having the same problem

Type services.msc in the start menu search bar and a config program will start up. Try setting it to manual start by right clicking on the appropriate service.

Oh, get rid of Limewire. It's the single largest, most common source of malware infections that I see at work. I was looking at the screenshot on the first page and noticed it.

I've scanned each file i've DL'ed and they were all clean except for a few which didn't last long.

Just ran a memory check, No errors were found.
