Make and model please. Also run dxdiag and post a log here. Open the case and post the specs of the power supply, including voltages and amp ratings.

Lets go through some troubleshooting and get this fixed. Just be patient, I work 70 hours a week at 2 jobs. I will answer questions as I have time.

It is a gateway GT5432. The power supply is a 300W And im not sure on Volts and amps. I haven't done anything to the computer yet (When i do put the 8800GT in my 650W Trio power is going in).

Just to save you some google trouble (It hasn't brought up a whole lot of results last time i searched) it has a

        Amd 5000+ X2

        Nvidia 6150SE (Integrated)

It now has 2 gigs of Pc-5300 RAM

        320Gb Harddrive

What is this Dxdiag you speak of?

          Is that all you need?

I just joined a game and it worked. So i played for awhile then hit "Esc" then dissconnected.found another server, joined, CTD. Ugh. Also, i installed bf2 in another computer awhile ago to run a dedicated server for a day. Could that be why?

No that would not force ur game to CTD, Here is a suggestion, u will have to redo ur settings for controls and video and audio but it helped me. Go to ur My Documents folder and find the Battlefield 2 folder and just delet it. Yes just delete it. When u reboot BF2 it will make a new one, try that and see if it fixes ur CTD, it fixed my error message and my CTD.

Hmmm, well u can try another uninstall of the game but this time make sure u delete the Battlefield 2 fodler in My documents as well as in program files ->EA Games. Then try reinstalling it. Also since it sounds like u have time on ur hands, download the 1.41 patch again, but this time have nothing running while u are downloading it so it doesnt get corrupted for some crazy reason. Then see if it works. Otherwise that is all i can give.

I haved DL'ed the patch 3 times. Reinstalled manual 1 time, Reinstalled (Automaticcally?) About 3. I'm doomed.

When i play single player it loads fine but when it gets to "Veryfying client data" It CTD's.

dxdiag stands for "directx diagnostics" and can be run by typing dxdiag in either the run window in XP or in the bottom of the start menu in Vista. Run the DirectDraw and DirectX tests under the Video tab. Your log shows that they have never been run.

If they all pass, my suggestions:
                    1. Put in the higher wattage power supply first. Multiplayer stresses the PSU and motherboard differently from singleplayer. I bet the OEM PSU can't keep up.
                    2. Burn memtest86 as an image to a disc and boot from it. This will check your RAM for any faults.
                    2. Update the sound drivers with WHQL certified drivers if possible.
                    3. Update the video drivers with WHQL certified drivers from nVidia.
Try it then. If it works, great. If it doesn't, post back.

Your card (nVidia 6150SE) can't actually play the game so don't even bother.

Hmm I got those shader and memory errors, except bf2 would have barely even loaded...I reinstalled patched and still nothing, then I opened bf2 by clicking on the cd drive icon through my computer, and launching and it worked perfectly

Since he got it to work previously, lets work through one issue at a time. Although, it won't hurt to go ahead and install the 8800 if he can get singleplayer working again.

From post #9, it seems a background process is hogging all the RAM. Post screenshots of the full list of processes from task manager. Hopefully you'll have less than 40.
