Sike, I believe you can simply add a laser marker to the smoke grenade (Similar to how the jet's give off heat) - very easily in the editor... then just edit the smoke grenade color, and voila!

Also, on the topic of no minimap.
In real life, all the squads can communicate together via radio, letting eachother know their location. Not so in Battlefield 2 or PR, meaning much more FF.

Well, I got kicked for taking the admins jet.... sigh.

And you sir, are lucky for the type of players. We had a guy get in a jet, and attempt to take off on the taxi way. Then, a player flipped the apache, and finally a player crashed the transport helicopter on the runway.
