well alot of people are heaving the same problem check out the SUpport secion , BUT
i dont say it IS pb cus i relly dont,know myself what it is that what pisses me of most, BUUT i cant really say its conection problem also cus iv been sitting on same router and same internet over 2 years and i didnt always have that problem ... i started to noticint the issue same time alot of other people got it ...


but i can try to do what kiwi said , its a method i didnt try

I think alex gave good example of a couple of many things i could be, but dude 2 yrs on a router, that sucker may be goin out. can you hardwire direct to your modem without the router & just try it? Also i dont know what kinda ISP u use, but cable can get weak & those phone line DSL can get weathered & the box's need repllaced.
have u been checkin your speed? cable / or dsl??

Also are or do you have good pings on the servers your tryn? check the "in game" screen for the ping.

Yeah, im sure your right, but i've had 2 that went kaput in about 2 yrs if i remember right, it sure wasnt much more than that.

i guess i'd just be something to check:nod:

Some routers live longer than others. I had two Linksys routers crap out after about a year each. My D-Link 4300 has lasted a while longer. The Linksys routers were ~$40 each, the D-Link was ~$120. I got it not too long after it came out, with the Gamefuel thing and all. Aside from lasting longer, it actually did drop my pings a little and make my games run better while my wife was online. With the Linksys my pings would shoot up to 400 when my wife uploaded pictures to myspace. My pings didn't change with the Gamefuel router configured for BF2.

Btw, wireless isnt good for gaming...

I've been playing wirelessly for years. My ping is never any different wired from wireless. It's a misconception people make that wireless is 'bad'.

Bad wireless is bad.

Just like bad video cards are bad.

Then again my wireless system costs more than most of the hardware in my computer.

-first i am going to install bf2 over again ,
- patch it
- install Highway Tampa
- then i am going to reset the router
- then do this :
1. Go to
xxx:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\pb
Create a file called pbcl.cfg as follows:
pb_Sleep 500
pb_system 1
pb_LogToFile 1
pb_SsLog 1
pb_SsSave 1
2. Get win_mtr (google it) and check how much packet loss you have to the game server
( BTW do i create FILES JUST WITH THAT NAME ? OR DO I TYPE ALL THOOSE COMMANDS IN CONSOLE INGAME ? )



so if non of thhoose this work at the end when i am done i really dont know anymore what to do!
i can just go buy new router its not mine...

dont forget use something like CCleaner to clean up pewter & do a registry scan & fix with it, then defrag, then reinstall, when u reinstall defrag again.

Just create that file with those contents. Typing in console is tiresome because you have to do that every time

your isp probably changed something it happened to me with comcast. they changed the connection speed of my whole area code to **** and i had to switch companies.
