Snipers only bug me now because anyone can use them, i dont know about you guys, but prepatch i sniped ALOT and was very successful when sniping, i would usually never get killed by a fellow sniper in any game i decided to snipe.

But now, after this patch it feels so noob friendly, i know thats not a bad thing but i just feel, all the patience and skill required has been taken away from the rifles, there is no need to hold your breath anymore unless you want a really dead on accurate shot which the sway can be manipulated to get anyway.

Snipers have lost their prestige in this game imo.

Now sniping is point-click kinda thing, and doesn't require anything. So all the n00bs run inside houses with their M21's and kill everyone...

i was a terrible sniper in BF2142, i whored the Baur and became one of the bets in the country until i moved. Dam i miss that gun.

But i agree, i respected snipers, now im starting to think the .50cal is as cheap as some other weapons.

Cry sum more. Ur bad thats why u die by snipers so much... There not overpowered and there not point and shoot. The Acog is harder to use and it doesnt reduce recoil, whoever said that is a knob. Whens the last time a scope reduced recoil? Pretty stupid. Play against me with m40a3 + Acog and ull get raped

Though I feel snipers have lost their prestige in the game after the 1.3 patch. I too worked my way up to red tiger paint on 2 of my rifles, (the M40 and M21) now it's sort of easy to hit something, rather than firing 3 shots into a guys head and having the hit recognition just laugh at you.

Honestly snipers shouldn't have ACOG scopes. Just last evening I was a bit drunk and decided I was going to load out my .50 cal with an ACOG and give it a spin using the steady aim and increased bullet damage. I played as a mid, just like when I rock my M-14. About half way through the round I checked scores and was appauled to see the closest guy behind me trailed by 20 kills. Not to lie, it is a bit difficult to use at that range b/c of the recoil throwing you way off your target after the first shot. Though I did die quite alot from counter-snipers and M203 rounds.

Pretty much snipers aren't that big of a problem if your team communicates and has your mids/snipers in position to take out the opposing teams snipers quickly and efficiently. Also, never undersetimate the usefulness of smoke grenades.

I dont think snipers are a problem, they have just lost everything they were and to me are now a point and click weapon with no prestige about them.

dang! 140 in the us only adds up to about 500 in the world. I gues I had a ways to go.

And on topic: yeah i have to agree with the op. I tried out the snipers yesterday and i must say snipers are way too simple. I got 37 kills and 26 deaths yesterday on bog just running around with the barret. A sniper should never work with a run n' gun style o gameplay, its just not right.
