thats the whole point.. its a addiction and a way to kill off the ability to make great mods etc that will attract players that wish to just play the game and not try to stat whore.. this argument is like politics no matter how you look at it so I'll leave it at that since I don't want to see the thread jacked or someone complain about someone bringing up removing stats.

Booooring! There are almost more middle east conflict games as there are WWII games. Why not make it a Chinese invasion of CONUS? Or the jungles of central or south america? Or something like the Falklands or the forests of europe?

...if the rumours are true. This isn't confirmed by either DICE or EA

Russia, China, maybe Middle Eastern countries vs USA and Europe.
Fighting would take place everywhere, from London to Helsinki.
Something like that would be kick ***.
Indeed. 5-15 years into the future. It would be "modern" and "predictable" enough for people to be familiar with the scene and feel some kind of immersion, and in the same time offer artistic freedom to play around with new concept. For example, with the world globalization process and economical power struggle, why not "divided NATO"? French and UKies fighting each other for god knows what, and other nations joining them. We know Germans, French, UKies, Russians, Swedes and Americans have all enough different weapons and vehicles out and in development, to make it "rain". Why not utilize this? Instead of an already boring "East vs West" theme of 2 factions, overdone and redundant.

5-15 in the future means automatic grenade launchers, rail weaponry, EMP warfare, F22 and new Russians Su-s, the possibilities are endless, especially with the introduction of a new front in warfare, the IT.

It should stay down and serious, something we all can see, feel, touch and predict. XM8 series rifles, urban warfare with its whole galore. Exploitation of free roaming (meaning, players have a choice to come up with their own weapons, like strapping C4 onto a buggy would be developed further, by adding the oil cans on top of the cars, or making them radio controlled on the field)

The problem with "futuristic games" is that they are often made into cartoonish BS, or they lack the "cool" aspect. For example, FFOW is a cartoonish game, it doesnt play nor look nowhere near as serious as COD4 for example, which is a serious letdown. BF2142 for example, is a statpadders game, where everything we see and know today, is there, and just has a new skin. The hovertank and the walkers are the only really truly "out there" ideas, everything else is unoriginal, stupid and wasted potential.

Id like BF3 to succeed, but unfortunately, people working on concepts of games nowadays, are shooting so off, that its terrifying. Its almost coming to the point where I can say "Yes, I can do better myself.".

Civil war = muskets and maybe bolt action rifles....have fun with that. plus alot of battles were fought in lines and in BF2..we've seen that ppl dont really fight together.

                                [/QUOTE]

They did not use muskets or bolt action rifles. They used ball and cap rifles (similar loading to muskets, grooved barrels for spinning of the Minne Ball). Bolt action rifles were not really off the drawing board during the 1860's. 1898 was when mauser developed the K98. The only musket that was really in wide spread use, was a muzzle loading shotgun....

I'm sorry, but I just needed to do that
