I wouldn't get your hopes up. As the other fellow above said, the PS3 had some serious problems in stats resetting and XP not registering...people asked for "free" XP to make up for it, which "402" said they could not do, obviously, so instead this seems like the way they decided to make up for it - a double XP weekend. They've been talking about this on the IW.com and CharlieOscarDelta forums.

IMO, none of this will carry over to PC.

It's easy to level to 55 because IW didn't wanna make this a game like bf2 where some people have played 600+ hours and still haven't got all ranks and/or weapons. IW just implemented the rank system as a gradual introduction to the game, get to top rank, congratulations, now you've finished the 'tutorial' and can play with all weapons and perks.

Double XP is for all the people in prestige, PC doesn't have it but X360 and PS3 do, so lots of people are trying to get to top prestige and this will help.

There is absolutely no suggestion or insinuation of new weapons and/or levels in your post. You're just making wild conclusions based on NOTHING and ofcourse there will be some people who read this and believe it and so you're creating an unecessary hype for something that doesn't even exist.

I agree with Whiskey. I don't see this "free XP" being attractive to PC users. It is so easy to get XP and rank up that it is unnecessary (hint: play objective mode games vs. TDM).

The idea of extending ranks/more unlocks is very, very attractive, but I can't see them doing something like this so soon after release. The game has only been out for a month, so I'd think we'd need to give them some more time for expanding a brand new game.

I think the ranks should go to 100 at least, even if you stop getting unlocks at something like 60.

PS3 is getting double XP because they got a super late start in the online play, PS3 had a boatload of problems with COD4 in the begining and it took weeks for people to get online, this is to make up for it. 1up or Joystiq had an article talking to the devs about it.

Doesn't sound to me like there are new ranks. Seems like they're just saying people will get more XP and therefore rank faster over the weekend. Ranks means nothing anyways and it's already ridiculously easy to get XP.
