I don't see how this relates to more ranks and new weapons.

Its the same thing as what they did with 2142, they double the points you earn in a round, thats about it.

C'mon now folks, let's not get all bent out of shape over this.

It wasn't a bad idea for M3ow to think extra stuff would be coming with this, but as others have explained, it's more likely that this is just a bit of a gift to PS3 users because they've been having major troubles recently with multi-player and XP not registering. There have been posts and threads out it on several forums.

Don't get mad just because someone disagrees with what you said but snippy statements certainly don't help.

And other companies did exactly the same thing with other games, EA with 2142 and others ... I couldn't care more about the ranks. Got it in like 2-3 days. As stated before, it was like a "tutorial" and now everyone could enjoy a nice game with nice perks and weapons. New ones wouldn't hurt, but not just yet. The best strat and pr was IW's, by creating a rank system to draw people away from EA's games...and they succeeded. Now whomever is playing this game for the ranks still should just move on ... hopefully. The cod series were never supposed to have a ranking system in it ... it's not made for it. It's waaaay too fast paced for that.

You all should know what this means.. There will be more ranks and weapons and unlocks. There just setting it up and getting it ready. Games like WarRock did this, MapleStory.

I knew it from day 1, that getting to lvl 55 in 3 days was too fast. :)

from the first few replies that i read, all of you got the wrong idea. if what i am about to say has been put forward in later replies sorry for repeating it.

right, when it says get more ranks and unlock more weapons, this means that instead of playing and getting 1000 points and going up a rank, you would get 2000 points and go up 2 ranks (on the basis xp from rank to rank was the same, which we know isnt the case). so all they are doing is trying to get more people to play on the PS3 version. (anyone know why? is it not that a popular game on this console?)

if they do go on to introduce more ranks and upgrades etc. then fair enough, they may even introduce prestige into the PC version too as so many people seem to be at lvl 55 already. but the quote you are talking about shows no hint of this whatsoever, you just quite simply miss interpreted what they are doing.

your right it doesn't. what IW should have done to make it idiot friendly is not to say "double xp for more ranks and weapons" but "double xp so you get your ranks and weapons quicker" because that is the only thing this will do.

Once you reach lvl 55 and get more exp., you have the option of handing in your rank and your unlocks to start again. Except, your time played and kills/deaths don't get reset. Everytime you reach lvl 55 again, you get a special icon next to your name. You can do this up to 10 times, with a new icon every time....
