Longer player names?

Has anyone heard any new if IW is going to be making it so more characters fit in the player name, or if they're going to add a clan tag feature? I've got members that can't fit their name in with the clan tags.

I agree that longer player names are needed. I had to change mine so I could wear my clan tags. That sucks.

yeah this is annoying. We've had to shorten our clantag and there are still members who can't fit it

Well at least you can add there your clan tag unlike in Airborne.Where you can not even edit your name or your clan tags.

A tag feature like the one in BF2142 would be useful, i agree its pretty limiting.

If I can find the guy I know, he knows how I'll post a tut if I find out. He uses the name of "M@yhem HarpAttack" and it fits, because he changed his name in the file. You can also use weird letters like the @.

You can only get a few extra characters that way. The issue is also that the scores screen only allows so many characters to show up. Server names have the same issue in the browser...there's a display limit.

To answer the question by Sonic, this was posted recently on the IW.com forums by IW Community Manager "402":

Tanman: Im just addressing a Major issue with the name length limit. Lots of people have been having issues with this feature its a big problem for clans having to get everyone to change there name or even the tags because its just way too short.

402: Thanks for the feedback / suggestion. We'll be sure to discuss it and see if it's something we'd like to update. At the moment though, not sure it's something we're looking at changing, but as I said I'll bring it up and see.

Yeah, they need to address this. Half my clan aren't even veggies in this game!! lol.
