It's the same typing in the console. It appears that entering in the console and cfg file does retain the long names, but they just are not displayed anywhere. When I type /name in the console now, it shows my entire name and tag, but it's the only place it shows.
Thanks for your assistance. It appears that it does have to do with how much room is allocated to display the name versus storing the characters.
This should be an easy change from a development point of view as it would be a setting for these fields vs storing a string of predefined length or type. Sometimes those changes involve changing other things, too and that's where things go wrong...
