For a start its overpriced, even here in the UK, and even on Play its still 30 quid

The SP is over in about 5 minutes and the idea of rows of enemies spawning out of nothingness to throw themselves on the fire isn't my idea of a decent game. The game is also stupidly easy even on the hardest settings...

Also like every other COD before it, it adds nothing new, easy to use guns and the same old gameplay. Linearity and scripting can be good when its pulled off well and don't get me wrong I thought there were scenes in COD4 that were brilliant but after a while simple reskinning the same game yet not even really making it better gets annoying

Multiplayer is ok I suppose, it still however plays off peoples strange craving for ranking over gameplay, which I will never understand...

After playing Stalker and recently Crysis I really cannot stand to play a COD SP game and I don't usually spend that much money on a dumbed down MP either

BF2 was superb (to me) and I wish it was still uber-popular, but with it's slow death I have migrated to CS:S and a little CoD4. What a waste of 1,000 bucks for CoD4. I mean, $50 isn't bad- but all the upgrades made it cost a lot more than 50 dollars.

I know! I used to play CSS and BF2 like everyday, but now with COD4, Crysis, Gears of War, they don't have that "fun" factor like these new games do.

i feel the same way but i haven't migrated and probably won't i'm hoping instead of my mom and dad buying me a car (used) i buy it myself and empty out my bank account (not much) they give me money for a new pc (hopefully) pc is cheaper than car so i hope they buy into it

Maybe it's just me, but five minutes is some record time, took me around seven hours to beat the single player. Well, I was playing on veteran, so that probably explains a lot. So, in single player, you camp and wait for them to die in your cheap spot, but they won't because you refuse to move from your tent to hit a trigger to stop their spawning. Why am I 100% sure you didn't play past recruit?

I do not see any of the same models, maps, or scripts that are the same. So, I guess you'd rather have a cone of fire with horrible sights, low damage, and some other f**ked up statistic for your weapons. I guess that's okay...?

I guess a lot of you are too used to your outrageously huge maps, imbalanced vehicles and weapons, and horrible game support from the devs. Talk to me once you decide to come out of that small cardboard box your head is stuck in.

LOL The game in the UK is still 5-10 quid dearer than most other new releases even on the Internet I bought Crysis and UT3 for less than 25 quid yet COD4 in all its supposed brilliance is still more

And the single player IS short, 5 minutes is an expression jesus, I had made my way through the levels and the "acceptable" story in no time at all. I would be pretty pissed that it took the devs this long to make the game yet the SP is so short...and I played the game on 2 difficulty settings, it was still easy for a PC game standard on the highest, it was obvious to a point that enemies magically appeared from nowhere and that took some of the shine off the game

My next point was also an expression, it felt just like the old games bar a few minor changes, it was great to have another modern day shooter and not another WW2 clone but it still felt superficial, if I wasn't told what I was playing beforehand it would still be easy to recognise it as a COD game...To some that might not be a bad thing, but I expected more for the money...

Also while alot of the game is genuinely fun at times and for the most part well made it suddenly declines into horridness, right after the Chernobyl mission it was very noticeable

Its also not an excuse to find ranking as a drawback to MP, everyone in BF says play on an unranked server but nobody does. As I said the MP is ok, I thought it was a worthy section for an hour or so, but like TF2 felt more like something I dropped into for a short amount of time. People were still prioritising getting their perks and ranks above playing the game...

Lastly, I remind you that was all my own opinion, I'm not forcing you to think what I think, but freeform games were for me a breath of fresh air. I am a Battlefield player yes, but gave up on them a long time ago after getting fed up with the **** Dice has pulled; I am a CSS/UT player as well, I know what it is to have a properly balanced game with brilliantly built maps (small and large) that receive Dev support so don't imply that I do not because I didn't decide to jump on the bandwagon of another so and so game

COD4: An OK game but overpriced and short, the story is ok but dragged down by poor implementation eg "WE GOIN TO THE MIDDLE EAST GUYZ" , and while the MP can be fun systems of stats and ranking still take over, even on unranked like I said before I couldn't play it for too long without getting bored

So, you'd rather them make co-op and call is single player (BF series). You'd rather them rush the game out with tons of bugs (BF series).

Wow, you sure seem to complain about a lot of things that are in the BF series that can hardly be considered to be in the CoD series. Also, for one that plays BF2142 (and displays your rank as if it were some prized possesion), you sure ***** a lot about the ranking. Which is very easy to obtain.

I have played both BF2 and 2142 for some time, I am competent at both and I thought to begin with stats were a good idea, time shows that they are not...I have also always said on these forums that stat systems can work alongside games if done properly...

And whats to say I don't find those flaws in the BF series? You're lucky if the actual engine or game executes half the time, there are terrible connection issues and there are times in BF that make me want to throw my PC out of the window but the gameplay formula is still one of the best out there...

And posting a youtube link...juvenile comes to mind, I hope i haven't hurt your feelings by insulting you're beloved game
